I HATE THE TIME CHANGE THAT WINDOWS HAS RELEASED. I live in the UK and the DST time has not changed, so why have the forced the update on me. I have to set my time to GMT +1 to get my time right. I have clicked the "Update Time" about 600 times and they still havent fixed the problem.

Uh, I don't know why that is happening. DST never started in the same time in the EU as it did in the US, so something is wrong if it changed for you and you haven't told the computer you are in the US.

How is daylight savings managed on a computer?

is there a flag in the BIOS saying whether it's on daylight savings or not?

because if it's just something that the OS is supposed to remember i think that would be kinda lame, especially if you duel boot. Both OSes changing the time by an hour when it's changeover time, that would be kinda lame.

it's can be done by the BIOS or the OS XP should sync to a time server

the OS changes the clock in BIOS, and I got an unable to conect to time server this morning when it tried to change and my laptop never did anything. ?:)

LOL :D Where I live there is no Daylight savings time. We're the only people in North America who don't change. :)

(We're Rebels)

That's because it's so flat there that you don't notice the change anyway :P
