Cap_Sig Posted August 9, 2017 Posted August 9, 2017 Is there a way to have a permanent filter in airodump-ng for a mac address? For example to prevent it from finding your own AP. Something similar to the kismet option filter_tracker=ANY(!"MAC") I'm sure I have just over looked it in the documentation. Thanks in advance! Quote
digip Posted August 9, 2017 Posted August 9, 2017 I don't think you can exclude any by rule or switch, but if you know your target's BSSID and/or ESSID, you can specify on startup so you only see what you want and capture just the AP you are testing for. Read the help file. "airodumg-ng --help" Quote
Cap_Sig Posted August 9, 2017 Author Posted August 9, 2017 @digip thanks for the response. I am familiar with the options you are talking about. I just wasn't sure if there was a way to exclude with a rule so if you were to run airodump-ng to scan for APs you would not see familiar/non-target APs. Not really something that is required/needed, was just curious. Quote

Many programs have hidden switches and features, but not sure about this one. They also have their own forums, where you should ask there as well, so you can get an official response from the Aircrack team. Maybe adding it as a feature is a valid request. Quote
