aiR Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Hi, What hardware do I need to increase my signal for macbook pro 2011. - Which hardware do i need to plug into the macbook pro to increase wifi range.. Quote
b0N3z Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 I use an alfa awus036neh which is sold in the hakshop. Depending on which OS (10.8, 10.9, 10.10, 10.11) you are using, you will have to install drivers to get the usb wifi card to work. I have mine working with 10.11 but you have to install a driver and a kext to make it functional. Before buying a usb wifi dongle check out the maker and make sure there is a driver and or kext for the Version of OSX you are using. If you have the awus036neh let me know and I will find the artical that I used to get it working properlly. On a side note, it might be more worth it to get a wifi dongle that supports 5Ghz connections. Quote
abelwho Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 And if you are usring kali linux it will not pick up 5ghz , only the 2.4ghz. Quote
