allmondg Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 OK, I did a real bad thing. I let a coworker use my MK V. I gave him the battery, the MK V, and a wrong power supply. (Amperage must has been wrong, it was a 12v power supply.) Next thing we smell all the blue smoke leaking out of the Pineapple. He has offered to replace it, but they are out of stock. So, is there any place that can fix this one? Looking it over under magnifying glass, there doesn't seem to be any burnt components, but it still smells. Quote
Dice Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I think he toasted it; fried; extremely well-done ... Wait for them to be in stock and have him order 2 new ones; one for you and one for him, Quote
overwraith Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Golly, current requirements? You'd think somebody would figure out how to build a light bulb which could shake off having a jigawatt thrown at it and still function correctly. Gosh darn engineers! Quote

DataHead Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 I had to... Now, I'm sure there will be info on the stock soon, I think Darren tweeted along the lines of the 16th there MIGHT be some updates written to us of the supply. Quote
overwraith Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 I couldn't resist making a jab at the guy that asked about "fixing" fried electronics. That's like asking to unfry an egg or something. Quote
Rkiver Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 If the magic blue smoke has escaped, it will never work. Darren said that more than a few times over the years as I recall. Quote
cr38g Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 The blue Genie is out of the pineapple... Quote
