I don't own a AP51, but i think you goto: ALFA Firmware page

  • Download the AP51 firmware.
  • SCP the firmware to your AP51 in the /tmp directory
  • Run sysupgrade -n -v /tmp/<firmwarefile> and you are back to stock firmware.

Someone please correct me if i'm wrong ;)

root@Pineapple:/tmp# sysupgrade -n -v /tmp/AP51_ID_nb_r1600_ETSI.bin

Invalid image. Use combined .img files on this platform

Image check 'platform_check_image' failed.

The Alfa AP51 is the Mark III it uses a different flashing technique than the Mark IV.

DO NOT try and put the Mark IV firmware on the Mark III (AP51/OM1P models).

Firmware Mark III

Mark III Info http://forums.hak5.org/index.php?showannouncement=6

If you are trying to turn your Mark III into it's normal router operation as it used to be, you will have to get the AP51 firmware from Alfa and flash that.

to install OpenWRT on my AP51 i used the AP51 flash utility and that was about it

unplug the AP51

Open the AP51 flash tool

select your files

Plug in the power to the AP51 and hit Go at the same time
