Banned From Irc

Everytime i try to connect to the hak5 irc i get told i am banned even though i have never connected before. Does anyone have any ideas what could be going wrong here? All help is greatly appreciated, thank you.

You're probably connecting as root.

1) Change your IRC client settings so "root" isn't in the name, the nick or anything of the sort.

2) If you further have problems, go on the WebIRC and ask there (Probably dd3 is the guy you need to talk to).

Sounds like you are connecting from root or is trying to join #hakhouse instead of #hak5. Or if you are banned from the IRC network itself, could you post the reason the ban gives you here?

update:

I changed all the names so root was not shown and still the problem persisted, until however i reinstalled backtrack 5 and now the problem is gone.
