elegin Posted July 10, 2011 Share Posted July 10, 2011 Yeah, those drive will put out a lot of heat. I still say just storage array. It could be clustered but I don't think that has anything to do with the 42 drives.. I think it is 42 based on counting them which may be off. My guess is 3 raid cards 12 channels each for 36 drives and 6 on-board sata to round out to 42. I have done several supermicro storage arrays but only 16 drives. Another interesting thing, is why is this guy keeping a can of gas with cigarette? Not a very good combination? I feel sorry for that computer already.
