Jamo
Haha yeah, I searched with my app from my ipod called: WifiFoFum and its puts <Hidden Network> more than once Yea, its funny, that people thinks, that, when they set ther wireles AP not to broadcast SSID its invisible. However there are multiple tools, which can see if there are hidden networks available. You still dont know its name, but you know that there is availale. And some apps, like Kismet and Aircrack-ng can even find those names.
alxhotel
Wow ! Thanks for the respond. Do you know how to take those names with aircrack ??
Sitwon
In order to get the name you basically just need to sniff a connection attempt. Which is easy to do because you can just forge a de-auth packet to kick a client off the network and it will usually try to reconnect immediately. Infiltrator
The <hidden network> can also indicate that the wireless network nearby you may not be broadcasting its SSID. You could use Kismet to verify that. Edited May 10, 2011 by Infiltrator
