okiwan Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 quick question... is there any way to ssh with firestarter running? if so how? if not whats a better firewall for linux? Quote
Infiltrator Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 What you need to do, is define an outbound access policy Or open port 22 to allow SSH outbound traffic. Quote

digip Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Does Firestarter run on port 22? If so, you cant do both at the same time on the same port, you would have to define one of the services to an alternate port, and then port forward accordingly for each service. I'm not familiar with Firestarter, so thats why I'm asking. Quote
Sparda Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Firestarter is a iptables GUI configuration tool btw digip. It likes to apply a deny all inbound rule when you run initial setup. Quote
Infiltrator Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 you mean inbound ;) Yes I meant inbound, Thank you Sparda! Quote
