IM looking forward to seeing one of these fons on the next episode....i was just thinking about what kind of a similar products could we aussies use if we can't get our hands on them (fons)...i mean is it just a software hack that can be applied to any router with a portable power supply?
Say like an old wrt54g with a power over ethernet hack, battery, some custom software and cloak/dagger enclosure for it (maybe a ...i dunno a watermelon?)...
I want to put mine in a big bible on the table. Nobody will come near for fear of religious conversion speeches hehehe

Rev 3 is entitled to have a hak forum. I won't be joing it but it is a gateway to the hak5 community ( or what reamains due to the bitching). Is anyone on here ever happy with the natural progression of the show?infuckingcredible

pretty much most of the crew speak as if there doing us a favour and they really seem to not care about the community. They just seem to say "oh im putting so much time into it".
yes i know it takes heaps of effort to put a podcast together but it doesn't mean you can just treat the community like there privileged to watch it.
We should feel some privelege that these guys have been working hard to try and gives us what we want. Seems too many people on here are ungrateful. Remember these guys have day jobs and life outside of hak5. yet, if they could make enough money to use hak5 as their job, they would get called sellouts blah blah blah. If you don't like the show or crew then you might as well move on and let the people who like it stay and get this comunity back on a happier level.

I wasnt going to post, but I thought perhaps I should. So....
Hacking is all about, understanding, investigating, experimenting with technology. This might be hardware, software what ever. Its all about getting a better understanding of a device, and very often helps improve something, understand and highlight flaws, and possibly find alternative purposes that may be of use anywhere else.
Personally as an InfoSec Professional, its my job to keep up to date with exploits, vulnerabilities and such like. I also have a passion for it, so I test things in my lab, and hack about with things.
I am not a black hat, I dont have intensions of owning a bank, or ripping off anyone, but that doesnt mean I dont like to explore things and gain knowledge. I am also an Adult. So I can make my own mind up about what I am doing, I am my own man as it were.
So just because someone posts something on the web, or on a TV show, or in a book, doesnt mean I am going to go an use it for bad.
HAK5 crew, personally keep up the good work, alot of the show is interesting, and fun. Its not all my bag, but thats just how things are. I wouldnt be over worried about this guy, but it does bring to light some peoples intentions, and their over reactive nature.
Finally (I know I am banging on) people on the forums are obviously entitled to their own view and opinions, but please do a sense check before banging on about something so trivial. Slow down on making crazy assumptions, as you just make as ASS out of yourself.

Well, if McCain does get in then it will probally lead to a couple of things. Firstly the role of America as a major player in world affairs will diminish, we can see examples of this with the Euro, Russia's resurgence and the rise of Asia. If America continues to alienate its allies and friends then very quickly it will lead to it being increasingly sidelined. It will also ensure that the republicans will find themselves to damaged to be elected without a major re-branding.
The rise of extremist Christian organizations and the increasing prostelatizing in some ways parallels the history of the East India Company. Initially the British were fairly acceptant that other people lived in different ways but once they started enest efforts to convert the natives to Christianity problems began to arise. Once you politise a religion it causes wars.
The crying shame of all of this is that the British goverment will continue to ape America when it should be putting its weight behind europe. I'm sick of the natives harking back to a dead empire while hidding behind America. The British are like that whimpy friend a bully has that stands behind him going "hit him! hit him!"
In some world affairs, I feel America should not realy be involved in. the American government has a great history of involving itself whetheer it was asked to or not. I can assure you that how moast Americans view their country and how the rest of the world view the US is quite different.

Regardless of what happened in season 3, it's time to move on. I can't get my head around the constant bitching at the current crew tbh. If you don't like it then fuck off and find something else. Everyone is intitiled to an opinion but not to the right to non-stop question every decision they make. this will just lead to them say "well what's the fucking point of continuing". They try to meet the requests of the community but they are a single show, not an entire channel or programming. I just wish I lived close so I could get in and get my hands dirty to help. I for one appreciate the effort they make. I loved Wess's segments and any dispute between him,darren and the rest of the guys is their business. We don't need dicks turning this into Hollywood style gossip shit.

As said earlier, I beleive in knowing every potential use fo revery bit of hardware you own. Would FON deny a sale of the router because the customer will not be accepting the the user agreement? We all are aware that things on hak5 can venture into the grey and black areas but anyone who wants to know how to protect their network needs to know what can happen. And what about the customers of the wificafe?I don't recall if this has been mentioned but they should have the sense to see which network they are connected to in the first place. Now repeat after me:
There is no patch for human stupidity.

I'm more inclined to support the SSl option but as mentioned if it isn't feasible, perhaps the two password option would be a good idea.
