Why are all of your torrents on your desktop x.x So messy.

More than likely just part of an automated scan, nothing to worry about.

Install gentoo. You'll learn your way around a linux system real fast.

Does not compute 0_o
I concur. If you can't make a simple banner, how the hell do you design a webpage?

what happened to the follow-up segments in regards to the reverse engineering of applications?
i was looking forward to the followups but they have not come. i do really love the VMware topics and am not wishing for them to stop.
was just curious as to where my segments went to
Well... nobody on hak5 can really code, let alone reverse... I had high hopes for the reversing series, but in the end it was nothing.

Also, not providing the version number does not stop attackers from trying recent exploits.
Which they will. Especially if it's on the perimeter of your network and it doesn't take any effort to get to it.

I read online somewhere that the restricted STA drivers should work but it didn't seem to take. Looks like I am gonna have to go to the trouble of creating an ndiswrapper. Damn its been a year since I last did it and kind of forget. =P
You should look at this: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=19514 . It's not for Ubuntu, but it should help you get the drivers set up. Don't use ndiswrapper, ever ever ever.

Also having problems with the wireless not working at all on my dell 1525 which uses the Broadcom BCM4310. I had a quick google but am yet to find a solution.
You're gonna have to use proprietary broadcom drivers.

You really need to stop caring so much what other people think of you. Trust me, I've dealt with a lot of teasing for various reasons in my life and the best thing you can do is to just stop caring what other people think about you so much.

OS X Server's advantage is that everything is simplified into wizards and step-by-step installers rather than endless config files etc etc etc
Like setting up LDAP, a pain to many people on linux/bsd but on OS X server is stupidly simple, granted you do loose some of the customisability.
I guess... just doesn't seem to level out how much system resources you could save by not using OSX in my mind.

Just curious, why are you going through all of the trouble of building a hackintosh for a server? I can't think of any advantages OSX has in the server environment over linux or BSD.

Kindles are nice because of size, battery life, and the screen for reading. I have been tempted to buy just to read manga, whitepapers, etc. on a screen that doesn't give me headaches but since I don't have a job I can't afford one right now.

Seattle, USA. Or at least the suburbs of it.

If I lived over there I'd probably go, but I'll be at Freaknight instead.

I use Win7 + TVersity (epic software). Works great for PS3 & 360. You can always use XP instead if you need those extra resources for real-time transcoding ^_^

Does not look like an OS that's meant for full-fledged desktops and laptops. Might be a nice netbook OS though.
