  1. Thats sort of the point isn't it? If the "new user" is technically aware yes I would agree but for a normal pc user going over to its the bees knees

  2. Lot less cables just having the monitors linked up to a cheap rotary switch though.

Also there is no reason you couldn't run a VNC server/ client system on a LAN to accomplish the same thing without multiple monitors is there?

  3. Try Nubuntu. Heres what its all about:

    What is nUbuntu About?

The main goal of nUbuntu is to create a distribution which is derived from the Ubuntu distribution, and add packages related to security testing, and remove unneeded packages, such as Gnome, Openoffice.org, and Evolution. nUbuntu is the result of an idea two people had to create a new distribution for the learning experience. Many people ask, "What makes it better than X?", or "Why should I use this over Y". Our answer to this question is, we do not think about whether people are using it or not. We are more concerned about the learning process. If you want to try something with a clean interface, fast, and an excellent range of programs please don't hesitate to download nUbuntu.

  4. You keep your MCSE once you've got it - but its sn MCSE in whatever operating system you took it in so your MCSE winNT , MCSE win2000 etc. Employers don't really give a toss about whether your 2000, XP or what now, as long as you have it.

  5. Maybe also with the FBi helicoptering in to abduct the evil server and put him in their witness protection scheme if he rats you out for helping all these script kiddies!:wink:

  6. Live cds ubuntu, knoppix, pclinuxos and mepis among a few have live cds. Alternatively just get hold of vmware player edit the vmx file for your distro of choice and run the iso in a Virtual machine on your win box

  7. I can second that havong now listened to the first ten security now casts! I' m gonna take a look at smoothwall as well since I have a few old pcs and network card I can use :)
