  1. Awhile ago there was talk of an HDK, it was supposedly going to be release around defcon, there hasn't been any talk of it since then, has it dropped off that map? Or did I miss something?
  2. Once again thank you so much for everything you've helped with!
  3. Just after a fresh install of 1.4.1 I haven't been able to fine ANY networks on wlan1, has this happened to anyone else and is there a fix?
  4. This was a thread I started awhile ago, people basically explained that it can be done but using an extra wifi card is much more efficient. https://forums.hak5.org/index.php?/topic/32612-bluetooth-tethering/
  5. As the title said, I want to use my TL-WN722N with a 9dbi antenna connected via usb to connect to a network, and then rebroadcast it using one of the the built in antennas effectively creating a wifi extender. I guess the proper approach would be to connect to the wifi network and then just create an AP? If not please correct me, I was also wondering if I need to configure my TL-WN722N to work with the 9dbi antenna/ through the usb port on the pineapple, or if it would work "auto-magically".
  6. Hey everybody, is there a cad file of the case used for the mk5? I want to 3d print a case for the pineapple, unfortunately I couldn't find anything. I also tried 3d scanning the pineapple with little success.
  7. I am not familiar with the FCCs rules and regulations regarding 2.4 Ghz wifi, if you connect a radio via the usb interface does it count as a separate radio or is it on the same board as another radio because of usb placement on the board. I don't really know what I'm saying so if you can't follow me; I want to have 2 point to point connections using both of the build in antennas and then a point to multipoint connection via a different radio (likely an alfa) connected to the usb interface, is this legal.
  8. I am experimenting with mesh networking and wifi triangulation but I only own one Pineapple. Most people would tell me to either buy more pineapples which isn't an option for someone without an income, or run openWRT on some other router I own (which I plan to do) but I want to use the pineapple's software so I can easily transfer both knowledge and software, so I guess my question would be, can I run the Pineapples tweaked version of openWRT on a WRT54gl or similar routers?
  9. Thank you for the fast reply! I will try this when I get home and fix my pineapple :/
  10. I am sorry if this question has been asked before; I have limited time and access here at school. But, can a raspberry pi be used as a relay server? I have seen multiple videos of people using a VM as a relay server but could you do it with a pi?
  11. Could you explain how? The AP settings are very basic; only having a few options like changing the ssid.
  12. Thanks for the reply and this setting definitely helped but I have 2 or 3 routers at my desk causing it to not always work. An unrelated question: Is there a way to hid your pineapples AP ssid?
  13. I would like to apologize for my spam of topics, but I need some more help. When trying to auto connect to the pineapples network it automatically reconnects me to a network with a real connection because the pineapple doesn't have an internet connection. Is there a way to either stop android from reconnecting me or to "fake" a real connection? Preferable the latter but I can deal with either.
  14. Is there a set date for when the list of compatible dongles will be released?
  15. Sorry, I didn't include that I THINK the usb port could be used to add a bluetooth adapter.
  16. I had posted a thread some time ago about using bluetooth with the Pineapple as a means of tethering to free up both wifi antennas and still have wireless tethering. I hadn't even received my Pineapple back then and was a bit of a noob (I still am) and was wondering how that could be done. Foxtrot mentioned something about kmods? I tried to look at them on the wiki but nothing came up, could someone explain them to me?
  17. All of these replies were great, but Fringes hit the nail on the head, thank you so much for your answer!
  18. Just as the title said, is there a way to directly ssh into the pineapple from something like my phone? I'm asking this because I am very mobile at the moment and don't have a lot of time to sit down and work with my pineapple.

    Internal VPN?

From my very limited knowledge of VPNs how I think they are set up is, VPN - verizon router - switch - computer, if that is incorrect stop me now but I am moving on to what I want to do. Is it possible to setup a VPN on an internal network? IE: Verizon router - switch - VPN - switch - (everything connected to the switch) The switch is in my room and I would like to connect to the vpn and act as if I was in my room (controling the lights, lock, music, etc.) Would it work this way? If not is there any way to make it work? I'm sorry I don't know the modle of the cisco VPN router I am using, I will edit in the name and modle when I get home from school.
  20. I know lots of you use Alfa wifi cards, but why? Is there any advantage to using them instead of the build in ones?
  21. I'm not sure this is the right thread but here goes, I have a MSI wind u100 netbook from five or six years ago. I want to run another linux environment to use as a "testing computer", the problem I've been haveing is most OS's are to heavy for the six year old netbook. I've been running Xubuntu which is a lightweight distro of Ubuntu and that still runs slow! Is there a way to boot into the command line? Or do I have a better option? Just a note, I've put in an SSD I had lying around so the HD is not what's slowing it down.
  22. Hmmm, that's what I did, I must have done something else wrong, I'll have to try and fix it when I'm home again.
  23. Hey everyone, I've bricked my pineapple so I went to this guide for help, I understood everything up until step 8. How do you extract the zip to root? through the web page or plugged directly into a pc? Lastly, when you're formatting the drive what format should you use, FAT32?
  24. Haha yeah, but thats not the point. I could easily bruteforce the wifi password, but where's the fun in that! Thanks for the reply, ~ Sam
