  1. I have experienced this once in a while and noticed the following in my log: Pineapple kern.info kernel: [75367.090000] usb 1-1.4: reset high-speed USB device number 4 using ehci-platform Did you see this as well?
  2. I didn't try using the eth port for this yet with the MKV, but for the MKIV I put these commands in a script: https://github.com/WiFiPineapple/web-interface/wiki/mk4guidewanport Not sure if this is needed for the MKV or if this is done automatically...
  3. Did you try connecting to http://192.168.1.13:1471 This is apparantly the IP the pineapple gets from your router. So if your laptop is on the same network you should be able to connect this way.
  4. I am a bit confused about the types of adapters. For connecting the 7dBi Panel Antenna (or other antenneas from the Mark IV) I need an adapter as linked to on Amazon? (SMA-Male to SMA-RP-Female)
  5. I did some tests with a 70M file: - Copy from remote host to pineapple: 2 times the reset error - Copy from pineapple to remote host: 4 times the reset error The class 10 card has less errors then the card that came with the MarkV (which eventually jumped into read-only mode). I connect to the pineapple via wlan1 (connects to my home network in client mode). I will do some test later connecting via the ethernet port. The card has a ext4 filesystem.
  6. Tried with a class 10 card. The problem still exists, getting these 'reset high-speed USB device number 4 using ehci-platform' all the time :( Could this indicate a hardware problem?
  7. Thanks. I will try to get hold of a faster sd card and see if it helps.
  8. WinSCP does this for me, but still it kind of worries me that this happens all the time...
  9. If I copy (2 MB+) files via SCP I encounter time-outs where the transfer stalls. I use WinSCP to transfer the files from the sd card in the pineapple to my local machine but I encounter the same by using scp on the CLI. The transfer freezes each 10-15 seconds and immediately before it resumes (taking another 10-15 seconds) I see the following in the pineapples log: Pineapple kern.info kernel: [75367.090000] usb 1-1.4: reset high-speed USB device number 4 using ehci-platform the output from lsusb is: Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub Bus 001 Device 002: ID 058f:6254 Alcor Micro Corp. USB Hub Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0bda:8187 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8187 Wireless Adapter Bus 001 Device 004: ID 058f:6366 Alcor Micro Corp. Multi Flash Reader I guess this might be a problem with the sd card or reader. I formatted the delivered sd card from the web interface. Did anyone encounter this issue and/or has a solution for this?
  10. In Europe you don't need to pay import taxes for Wifi devices. You do need to pay (if your package is handled by customs, which is pretty random): - VAT (varying from 19 to 21%). Note that this is on value + shipping cost! - Customs handling fee (10 - 15 euro) For a plain pineapple MKV I had to pay 18 euros to the postman (shipped to The Netherlands by USPS)
  11. You can ssh into your pineapple and use the macchanger command: macchanger --mac <your required mac> wlan0 Make sure the interface is down before you use this command (ifconfig wlan0 down)
  12. You were lucky. 5 out of 10 times customs will send you a VAT bill (and sometimes other import taxes) afterwards. (+1 here as well)
  13. Budget solution around $5,- (14 hours with one set of rechargable AA-batteries): http://www.conrad.com/ce/en/ShoppingList.html?view&id=6c97736ee99db7a06c361975086d5ae6
