my pineapple wont power up a 4gb cruzer fit without a powered usb hub. there is nothing you can do about the sketckyness of usb other than a powered hub. most usb hubs run on 5V 1 A was the battery unit you hooked it to set for 9 or 12V was the polarity of the barrel connector right? i bought a small belkin usb hub for mine as like i said it wouldnt even mount sda1 and sda2 without it. the pineapple is a low power device and cant power much. if i use my 12V adapter on the pineapple my flash drive will work without a hub. but if i power it from ANY 5v source such as bat pack or usb port off laptop i need my hub. i power my hub off of my bat pack. i have a 6600mah batt pack with 2 usb ports. one port powers the pineapple and the other powers the hub. so far i have not had any issues with this setup. i have my flash drive and alfa running great off that setup. no issues. it seems to me that the usb issues you are having are normal as its the same as what i went through when i got mine. there is a steep learning curve with these things and researching hardware setups is part of that curve. hope that helps Haroo

use the ac adaptor to power the hub instead of my usb power cable for it and it made no difference at all in ubuntu. it works fine in windows. just not in ubuntu 12.04. im going to download a different distro and try it but i really didnt want to.

so far i have tried all the drivers i can find and nothing... im told it uses the ath9k_htc drivers. i have also tried every driver under the sun for this chipset. and nothing.

I got my AWUS036NHA with the wifipineapple elite bundle and when i plug it into my ubuntu laptop i does not come up in ifconfig / iwconfig when i issue lsusb i shows up. has anyone seen this issue or does anyone know what i have to do to get it going. my pineapple bundle took about a week to arrive in alberta via UPS

i just ran the script again and then manually set my ip,subnet,dns in ubuntu and all my ubuntu issues are resolved . this still does nto help me understand the windows issues i thought the script set the ip ip eth0 in ubuntu for me. maybe it does maybe it doesnt ? strange because it was working then not. and now i set the up manualy and it works now.

i am having the same issue.

i know im asking alot of stupid questions... but... so now in ubuntu when i plug the pineapple into eth0 i lose the ability to use internet on my laptop. as soon as i unplug it it works. is there a way i can set my defult connection in ubuntu? it seems as soon as it sees that i have a connection on eth0 i only uses eth0 and not wlan0 for anything

i also have to run the script in ubuntu everytime i hook up. is there a way to avoid doing that?

stealthkit - I have it working via ubuntu and the script. the script sets a gateway but there is no gateway setup in windows. is that the issue with windows not working? i dont have a chance to try any of that right now but i will in a bit here and ill let you know.

im still having this issue. reverted to 2.7.0 today as i though the update is what caused this.... it was not. so i have my pineapple facing NIC set to 172.16.42.42 255.255.255.0 no gateway dns 8.8.8.8 internet facing NIC is online sharing is set up and pointed to the pineapple facing NIC as per guide in wiki and book windows did change the ip on the pineapple facing nic to 192.168.137.1 after enabling ICS but i changed it back to what it should be. Still have the same issue Any more thoughts on this would be awesome Haroo

yes i did use the script and it was working fine before the update. im going to look firther into it to see what else the issue may be when i have a chance. ICS was both setup and working on ubuntu and windows prior to update

I'm having trouble getting internet to my pineapple. I have tried both windows and ubuntu. i have had it up and running perfect in both OS's. But since the update to 2.7.5 i have had this issue. bit its strange because when i ssh into the pineapple i can ping google.com and others just fine. but if i try to wget or download a module it doesnt work. when i click reveal public ip on status page or List available Infusions (aka modules) from the pineapple bar it sits there for a spell then i get a white webpage saying the following Bad GatewayThe process did not produce any response also if i try to issue the command opkg update it tries to download the update then fails. but once again as i said it can ping outword. Any helkp would be awesome. Haroo

Im having the same issue. but changing the " $ref = "http://".$_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'].$_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']; " line in redirect.php does not do the trick. i just updated to 2.7.5 and the stock files in phish-pineapple.zip worked fine in 2.7.0 i can kind og work around this issue like this <?php $ref = "http://".$_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'].$_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']; if (strpos($ref, "facebook")){ require ('facebook.html'); break; } if (strpos($ref, "twitter")){ require ('twitter.html'); break; } ?> but thats not how i would like to do this because it still says redirect.php. also before when i was running 2.7.0 the connected client still had internet access when not going to the sites setup on redirect.php now it just sends all sites to site/redirect.php so if i go to google.com it goes to google.com/redirect.php Hope i can get this resolved Thanks Haroo
