    get the wrt54gl from newegg

    try to buy these items from online only sites

    most stores that have actual shopping locations will tend to charge up to twice as much for their stuff

    and it is the easiest to flash with ddwrt

    just get the ddwrt mini, then flash it as you normally would, then restart then flash the full ddwrt firmware and your good to go

    i wish they would write a program for those other routers that require lots of monotonous tasks to flash a new firmware, and add something that does it automatically

    kinda like what quest made for the actiontec routers. because the stock firmware causes the isps custom firmware to not work when flashing from within the 192.168.1.1 page

    it requires many other annoying steps so they just released a program that does all of the work for you

    ddwrt needs to do this for their firmware (it would save a lot of questions about how to install it)

    it will cause many problems.

    humans cant be in charge of the filtering as there billions of websites for them to look through.

    and filtering software cant be used either because there will be too many false positives

    it will send many AU businesses out of business as their customers wont be able to connect to their site due to false positives

    it will be like in my old highschool where they used some crappy symantec filter for the entire school which not only failed to block some porn sites, it blocked most legit sites such as the websites recommended to us in the textbooks for study guides. the schools own library page, email, and many other sites

    and all other sites that relied on advertisements to cover server costs would randomly fail to load due to them being blocked based on the content of the advertisement

    while i'm sure that country will have people that arent as retarded, setting up their web filtering, it will still have false positives if it filters based on page content

    and since they cant change the filtering rules to fix it as that will unblock thousands of bad sites along with the 1 good site. they would have to manually whitelist sites

    and we all know how long it takes the government to do anything

    (not sure about au, but in the US, when were were in Junior high school, our teachers had us write letters to the white house (we used out own home return addresses)

    I got a response (a generic copy/paste one) back from them during my first year of college

    if I owned a online shopping website and they blocked it and I asked them to unblock it, I would be out of business years before they even look at my request

    you did nothing wrong by asking about the site here. it is always better safe than sorry.

    most small sites that sell things will use ssl to secure the traffic

    they will also have other guarantees that the site is secure and offer a buyer protection

    most sites will offer a return policy

    the site could be legit for all we know but it has too many red flags while some may take a risk with items under $1 (common ebay marketing, sell hundreds of $1 items, this boosts your score and makes people more willing you buy your 500 dollar items, businesses go through a great deal of work to gain your trust)

    also if you have so much money, you would have hired someone to set the site up for you

    if you cant do that then just post your items up for sale on ebay many small businesses do both ebay and their main site as that helps build trust as it proves that they actually have the items they are claiming to sell. if a user on ebay scams you and you report them, this usually happens if ebay tries to get your money back and the seller refuses

    but in the case of a site that offers no guarantee what so ever and also skips the item list confirm before signing into the paypal, if the site does scam you, you may just be screwed out of money with no hope of getting it back

    this happens a lot these days. you will see many sites selling stuff and offer no security of any kind of guarantee that you will get the item then when a few people get tricked, they take the site down and launder what ever profits they gained from the scam

    I use an old pc with a amd athlon xp 2400+ as a small server

    it does a good job with hosting things like a battlefield 2 server, a jedi academy server. a shared folder for storing lots of anime

    it also hosts my orb2.0 http://www.orb.com/ one of the best programs ever made for watching video on mobile devices, it auto detects the device (cell phone, pda or any other device able to stream and it automatically converts the video in real time to be in the correct format for the device (it also does a speed test so it can better choose a bitrate for you that will keep you getting smooth video )

    but depending on the device or if more than one device is connected to it, it can eat up a lot of cpu cycles as it converts the video in real time

    Seems nice but I'm not sure why I'd upgrade from my regular DS Lite.

    the slightly bigger screen means you get to enjoy using the charger more often

    you also get to take crappy under exposed, high ISO images with a tiny cam that has a ccd too small for the image res

    which means you will also get the joy of spending hours using layer masks, pen tool, blur tool, levels, alpha channels and a multitude of other features in photoshop to make the images you take to actually be viewable

    this is a win win for all of the companies.

    Nintendo gets to charge you a arm and a leg for the DS

    Adobe gets more business

    and you get to use all of their stuff :)

    So what happened Razor? I went through the checkout process without paying and he sent me an angry email stating I was interrupting his business ;)

    Also, looky: "These are for people who cant afford the real iphone. Looks and works the same. I sell more of these phone then the real ones."

    -How could he sell so many already when he just put them up?!

    not sure he wont be able to contact me anyway because all of the info is fake wand would automatically be rejected by just about any other shopping site

    someone should email him about being interested in purchasing some iphones then give then a call back number of (202) 324-3000

    be sure to get him angry in the email so if he is steamed enough to call and harass you over the phone, they would be calling the perfect place that is designed to deal with him

    the site seems more like a scam especially since it tried to skip you past the paypal confirmation and item page (because you are not able to see the paypal order info before paying so it could be anything your agreeing to and you wont know until you pay )

    so when you contact paypal about not getting the item you received, the scammer will say that there was no contract and the PayPal was strictly a donation, the payment info even says so (which you didn't see because the script was designed to skip those pages and possibly process the payment also if your already logged in)

    the button tries to take you directly to the checkout process i think he hoped that you would already be logged in and mistakenly clicking would automatically make the payment

    it skips the product listing page (if there even is one to begin with and does what seems to be automatically process a payment ) and because theres no agreement it may be completely legal unless you can prove otherwise )

    yep scam

    the site is poorly made

    another problem, theres no security policy

    his site doesn't verify any info given to it

    it is not ssl secured

    it seems as if he is hosting the site on his own pc for it so have such little bandwidth (probably so it can be taken down quickly if needed)

    it has just about all the red flags of a scam site

    he also never includes any evidence that those images on his site are not stock pics found on other places

    and most people now have iphones, that may be his personal one

    ok i've honestly been looking for 2.5 hours to find a fix for my problem.. none of the suggestions i have tried have worked... "EPIC FAIL" and now its kinda starting to bug me... here's a picture.. of what i mean..

    school filters always seem to be setup by either idiots or people who want to do everything possible to annoy those around them

    When I was in high school, out filter would block sites based on the type of content and blacklisted words

    this caused many problems because most websites would randomly stop working especially news sites that allowed user comments and websites that had test based ads or contained links to any blacklisted site

    Yahoo mail, gmail , cnn.com, wikipeida (depending on what was on the main page), google.com, depending on whats was shown in the results, the schools own library site because some people had the name Dick, and it was a black listed word ), the biology study guide site that was listed in our biology textbooks was also blocked by the schools filter, and many more sites.

    it was a total mess

    but luckily the filtering was being done through a proxy server and the way around it was a simple loading of firefox portable which allowed to use of a different proxy server

    I am ok with reasonable filters but when people go overboard and make the filter in such a way that browsing is mostly useless

    it wasn't just annoying, it was useless in doing what it was designed to do.

    sites like ebaums world worked most of the time, illwillpress worked all the time, flash based porn sites also worked, as well as stage6 (best site for video, someone needs to slap them for shutting the site down )

    the filter just randomly blocked sites, and 8 out of 10 times, it was a educational site that was blocked

    (i think the filter they were using was made by symantec content filter)

    why cant they make a beer thats not bitter, soda is cheaper and taste much better than beer

    don't the beer companies ever taste test their own products and notice how bitter their drink is? an if they do, then why don't they ever fix the problem with the beer being really bitter

    they could at least add some sugar or something to make it better

    That is probably one of the best ones I have seen you do so far. Really like that one. WHat are you rendering them in?

    mainly using photoshop and maya to make them. I make a texture in photoshop, then make the 3d models in maya then add the textures to them then bring them back into photoshop for fine tuning and color adjustments

    ZoomIt works for me when recording demonstrations of bugs

    (most bug reports I do I record videos of the bug happening especially for odd bugs that are hard to explain )

    I have tried one other one that also worked well, forgot the name but it's zoom function only worked when recording and it was hard to tell how it zoomed because the zoom took place in the recording and not live, i will check if i bookmarked it, but i personally hated it because you will get seasick as the zoomed in area followed the mouse pointer

    another thing that can be done is adding subtitles for typed text, so when your typing things it will show up as subtitles in the video in a way that everyone can read that way no zooming is needed, only problem is adding subtitles using adobe after effects is very frustrating because of all the steps needed

    and if you can find someone with a lot of time on their hands, you can do the panning and zooming in the video editor after recording (which is also very annoying especially when the motion tracker in programs like aftereffects cant tell the difference between a mouse pointer and text)

    for me, the mod approval thing is not too good to do. it puts a crap load of monotonous work on the mods, this will make this less willing to spend time on the forums

    is specially when only 1 in 500 messages will be spam

    Yeah, that's true. However, an automatic and istantaneous IP ban forces the spammer to request another address from the ISP, a very annoying feature that slow down the spamming. (IMHO)

    but what happen when a innocent person gets that banned dynamic IP from their ISP, then they would feel that they were banned for no reason from the forums

    I mostly work with flstudio and adobe audition for music.

    I took a elective music class in college and i got through easily

    it is much easier to work with midi instead of loops. as instead of spending hours editing a pre recorded loop you can just make your own and it will sound the way you want it to sound

    i tried sony acid and it pretty much sucked in terms of how much control you got over the audio

    fl studio makes working with midi extremely easy and adobe audition (one of the best audio editors on the market) allows you to fine tune the audio and apply more advance effects in a more visual and easy way

    the furry ones are the only decent avatars available

    other than those, your stuck with the stock human model that linden labs gives and you just customize it with hair and clothes so no matter how much you mod them the human models always look sub par

    even if someone is not a furry they will still generally prefer a furry one as there usually more well made than the human ones which require you to use the default linden lab model

    Social Security Number

    they use SS numbers to track us but they know they cant make it the only use for it as it will be too much of a security risk

    no matter how professional ca company or a government worker is, you still don't want them to see your social security number unless there of the most higl qualified to handle this info

    example if we use SS numbers instead of other forms of ID

    a police officer would ask you for ID, he or she would then memorize your SS number then write it down when you leave

    that person can then file for a loan using your info and have the paperwork sent to a recently foreclosed home which they can have access to

    after they get the money and get it converted into cash leaving the victim in a heap of debt

    so they use other forms of ID which have numbers that are extremely long and nearly impossible to remember unless you write it down while looking at it

    but what the government needs to fix is the health care system, they need to make 1 card that has a id that connects you to a database all of the medical related info so that way when ever you go to a different hospital, you don't have to fill out that 70 page crap form

    it would also get rid of stupid delays in the hospital because you will see a long line and each person talking to the worker for like 10-15 minutes for no reason

    a card system would make it much faster because all they will need to do is come to the front desk and swipe their card and have a seat and wait to be called
