  1. his method is basically having a old pc run the pandora jar and rip songs 24/7 then when ever you need, you sync up with it and get all of the music

(you can even make a batch file to sync the music up with a PDS or mp3 player if needed (the only problem is that out of the 15GB of music, you will hate 10GB of that music and will have to manually delete the ones you don't like

(theres no way around that unless you can get someone to sit at that pc 24/7 and have them rip the good songs only)

(I was working on a way to get better control but gave up. my plan was to have a live broadcast of the audio like how hak5 does the live episodes

then using the remote ripping feature, I can probably connect to my ip address using a remote pc then listen to the music and remotely rip the music so when i come home, all the good songs that day will be grabbed and saved

  2. http://musicbrainz.org/

Doesn't have a thing to do with Pandora Jar, does it?

If your just looking for another way to rip music, use Audacity, open source. Won't save song/artist info, but it will record anything playing on your computer.

    http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

I know it doesnt have anything to do with it but currently pandora isint ripping and tagging the music

so you have a choice. name the song, then right click on the sound file and go to properties then add the artist and almum info manually (for every song you like

or have that program do it for you?

pandora should be fixed soon but for now we need temp fixes

(for me having that program helps because i don't have to go through opening every file in the temp folder to find the one i liked and name it

that program will name all of the files then you delete the ones you don't like from the temp folder

  3. there is a new method emerging but it has a low success rate

    http://musicbrainz.org/

since their program is new their database of songs is small

but it works like tunatic it scans the frequencies of the music and after analyzing the sound, it matches it with their database then properly names the song

(to do this just give the temp files a random .mp3 name then let that program do the rest of the work, it will rename all of them to the correct name

if you haven't used tunatic, here it is also

    http://www.wildbits.com/tunatic/

  4. will hopefully be fixed soon

hope when it gets fixed it doesn't have the ripping problem

that ripping problem where the wrong name was used to save the file started when i upgraded to the new version so i had to roll back to

Pandora's Jar Ver: 7.4.0 Beta (made me miss my pocket pc control (400 foot wifi range)

old version but never gave me problems ripping audio

no matter when you clicked grab this track for the song, it always had the right name (only problem i noticed is that it labels part of the name of the sing if the song has a & in it (didnt bother my though because most songs don't have a & in them and the ones that do, even with half of the name, you still know which song it is)

  5. i tried waiting until the middle of the song, it still saved the wrong name

    MP3 tagged and saved:

    C:pandoramp3UNKNOWN STATIONTam!UNKNOWN ALBUMTam!-Punctured Brain.mp3HTTP/1.0 500 Internal server.Server Error Date: Sat Jan 13 16:19:55 EST 2007 Content-Type: text/html Cache-Control: no-cache, no-store, must-revalidate, max-age=-1 server.Server: Pandora's Jar Connection: close unable to rip MP3 null

the name of the real song is Nemo by nightwish

  6. works great but has 1 problem

sometimes after a song when the next one starts and you click on grab this track, it will grab the last song played instead of the current one. then if you wait a little more and try it again, you get this error

Same MD5 as last time (stopping!)

    ef542d5693b3c630e89577762c5c25e4

and other times, it will tag the new song with the name of the song last played

(the remote control works great :) )

Edit: it has used the same song and artist name for 3 different songs now.

    for 2 different radio stations

and if i grab it again i get

Same MD5 as last time (stopping!)

    3a838948e0d46bf635726c1c94ca6157

For my "Ayumi hamasaki" station, i get this error

    failed to retreive match rating:

    f07e6ce40def92a9abf3b02653c3e520HTTP/1.0 500 Internal server.Server Error Date: Sat Jan 13 16:04:31 EST 2007 Content-Type: text/html Cache-Control: no-cache, no-store, must-revalidate, max-age=-1 server.Server: Pandora's Jar Connection: close unable to rip MP3 null

  7. The best way instead of adding extra flash player extensions, just do this simple tweak

(firefox has to be closed while doing this)

Step 1: Go to C:Documents and SettingsUSERNAMEApplication DataMozillaFirefox

Step 2: Right click on a file named pluginreg

    Step 3: open with notepad

    Step 4: Press Ctrl + F

Step 5: type in the word "flash" then press enter

    you will see a line named(example) $

    Shockwave Flash 8.0 xxx R22|$

    Shockwave Flash|$

    2

    0|application/x-shockwave-flash|Macromedia Flash movie|swf|$

    Step 6: locate the 8.0 xxx R22

    Step 7: replace the 8.0 xxx R22

    with

    9.0.21 d55

    then save changes and close

after that open your pandora again

it will now run fine with out the use of grease monkey or noscript

  8. that would make it rip every song and when afk i cant tell what song is playing all i know is that it sounds good :) (would have to search through 30 new songs to find the one good one that i liked)

thats prity much the main reason why i want to basically have some remote control for pandora

example of the error i get when using the pocket pc

    localhost connected to server.

    localhost connected to server.

    NARUTO connected to server.

    Invalid request: action_grab_mp3

    NARUTO connected to server.

    Invalid request: requestid

  9. Does anyone know what request is made when someone clicks on "grab this track"

I am working on something for the pocket pc that will allow me to have pandora jar grab a track using the pocket pc.

I usually use my wireless headphones and the wifi feature of my pocket pc has about the same range as the headphones.

I am usually away from my pc but sometimes a really good song will come on and by I have to come running to my pc to grab it.

i would like to be able to just do it remotely using my pocket pc.

i tried multiple times but the pandora jar window just shows a error message saying invalid request

  10. this has already been fixed, to fix it,

Step 1: go to http://greasemonkey.mozdev.org/ and install the extension

Step 2, restart firefox then click on this link and install the script

    http://hockersmith.net/FirefoxHacking/pandorajar.user.js

this will fix the flash problem and allow you to use flash 8 with pandora.

(I hope that one day there will be a new version of pandora that wont have this problem)

  11. i know that thread.

it requires me to name all songs manually.

and by the thread above me, i thought you were talking about the discussion thread

that thread is a mess. they need to lock it and make a new fresh one that is not filled with spam

i wish there was a way to it the get name and artist from the pandora window. if it can display the text then it should be stored as a text value somewhere

it would be cool if they can make pandora jar like how videogame trainers are made.

if i use a memory editor used for games, it can pick up the names on the fly

    currently listening to this song
