  3. dude sorry but regardless of  the problem , but just looking at that desktop that machine's begging for a clean install ....

generally u can approximate how much crap's on a machine by looking at how much crap's on the desktop.

i can guess the machine's mutilated by a bunch of bad apps and possibly malware and for that i must agree , your best move is to do a clean install ...

PS: A cheap "bandage" fix, could be downloading an alternative desktop shell(not sure thats the correct terminology) for example http://bb4win.sourceforge.net/bblean/ and using that :p.
on vista this (unfortunately is a no go :(

to quote the bb4win wiki :

Vista failed in everyzing so you cannot run any kind of external shell on this other than explorer.exe, retarded to say the least.
  4. Windows problem, backup and reinstall.

And if it was somethign as simple as a driver conflict, or hardware conflict, like a printer OR THE ROUTER, why? At least try and diagnose the problem before wiping so you can prevent it from happening again, even if you do decide to reformat. Refomatting is like putting a bandaid on a cut that requires stiches, it's only a bandaid, its not a fix.

no actually its saying Fuck the cut ! lets replace the whole friggin arm !
  5. Yeah, I suppose it's going to compete directly against this too.
ya think it'll become vaporware ? the company that was going to make the phantom was fairly small and unknown ...

and the subscription idea was terrible ...

acer's a pretty big name (the majority of laptops sold in europe are acers ...)

and i see this feesable, just create a small pc in a console box with a custom OS ... (kinda like the xbox was but open-standards :p)

  6. Acer Plans to Develop “Open-Standard” Game Console

Acer Wants to Challenge Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony

Acer, a leading maker of personal computers, said at a press conference recently that one of the projects that it was working on was an open-standard video game system. The company did not unveil any details about the potential product, but stressed that its device will compete against Microsoft Xbox and Nintendo Wii.

“If you look at most of the other game machines that are out there right now – Nintendo’s [Wii], [Microsoft’s] Xbox – they are ‘closed’ and proprietary systems,” complained Acer’s senior vice president James T. Wong in an interview with Beta News web-site. Therefore, the company sees a success opportunity in a game console based on open standards.

The high-ranking executive of Acer said that beyond “openness”, all of the Acer-branded systems being eyed right now, including the game machine, are envisioned as offering new and innovative form factors and applications.

There is a significant difference between proprietary gaming systems and open standard gaming systems for gamers: the cost of games. For example, Electronic Arts’ latest Need for Speed: ProStreet for PC costs $29.99 at Amazon.com, Xbox 360 version is sold for $42.99, Nintendo Wii version is priced at $49.99, whereas Need for Speed: ProStreet for PlayStation 3 is available for whopping $59.99, two times higher compared to PC version.

Theoretically, a game console which developer does not charge huge royalties for the ability to develop and sell compatible games may allow video game makers to sell their titles at a lower price. However, the question is whether the creator of such game system is able to sell it at an affordable price-point while offering decent performance and feature-set. Usually game consoles are sold at a loss and then their developers earn money on games and royalties. Acer’s business model is based on selling hardware at a profit.

  7. pfft i'm kinda losing respect for ya mate :s

not only for this blatant promo but for the nazi's you let on there ...

    like this tard : http://k0h.org/smf/index.php?topic=2028.0

you have the support of our forums and members, so why try and counter it ?

and if you dislike it here or how stuff is handled why not just leave ?

(hell thats the reason i left the ukcs boards ...)

but there's no reason to allow people to talk us down like that on your own board, take some responsibility.

i'd even dare and call this backstabbing, seeing you didnt even defend us, you just answered np. :s

dont forget that if it wasn't for us there'd never'd have been usb hacks.

  8. I'm going to say no to adblock

Did they have a problem and ask you to fix it?  People can browse the web without ad block and end users don't even notice or think there's something they can do about it.

    good point ..
  9. The idea is that you play with the "big boys" before you find out about USB hacks.
yeah but as i said before judging by skiddies on youtube making tutrial vids bout it that aint happening , and maby it wasn't such a bad idea we put it out there :(

maby we should just get rid of the usb hacks section , wash our hands and forget it ever happened ...

  10. microsoft doesnt understand what update and upgrade means.

look at most of their programs,  IE went downhill after ie6    ie7 uses a lot more memory and cpu usage and lacks many of the features of ie6 like  ftp support (in ie6 i can open any folder and access one of my few ftp servers, ie7 removed this ease of use

all microsoft has been focused on the past 6 years was eye candy and not performance or functionality

you have to look at the people who use the software

To almost everyone who uses computers in general updates and new features means "ooohh, eye candy".  Geeks like us don't care about eye candy just features so we'll use something that can add features... Firefox come to mind it has so many addons it's a much better choice, when was the last time your mom/dad/sister/grandparrent needed a feature that IE didn't have?

does adblock count ? if so daily :p
  11. that free cp wasnt so free after all i guess

    either cp or

    a case of

wow i found a cool exploit on some random forum, i'm going to try it on my school and after that, i'm going to try it in the company that i work in, *2 days later* door gets knocked down *starts crying like how that person from telling people to leave britney spears alone* "leave my pc alone ::::("

    chris crocker ...
