  1. so im dual booting bt4 on my eee pc an i need help installing a driver for my usb alfa antenna. model awus051nh. got it working on the win7 side just fine. had it working in unbuntu on my macbook pro just fine. bt4 im a little lost. :( thanks
  2. i got my netbook! im so excited. i got the eee pc 1005HAB and an extra GB of ram. its blue and soft. well...i havnt even turned it on yet...about to put back track on a usb an install it. edit: 1005HA....big battery. :)
  3. i have a macbook pro. i love it. its a very powerful an reliable laptop. its really good for work ie: video editing, music editing etc... i originally got it for my music studio, but now i got rid of OSX an run ubuntu on it. it dosnt have the best video card though. but mine is a few years old. so if you want it for gaming you might want to check what kind of video cards the newer ones have.
  4. ok i didnt change any settings why is this showing up like this now. i cant see any posts just a list like this. like its some old school BBS.
  5. im no expert an i dont live there, but i dont think it should be a problem. customs wont even know what it is. although...in the US when getting something from overseas there is a plastic bag attached to the outside of the package. inside that is a paper that explains what is in the package so customs can read it. i ordered illegal alcohol from overseas before and the company just listed that it was collectors glassware on the package and wrote that it costed like $5. when in reality i paid a few hundred. so maybe you can request hak5 list that its a regular open mesh router and that its $30.
  6. hackers is a little corny, but i cant lie. iv watched it like 5000 times. an yes it is a VERY quotable movie. i think i know the entire script by heart.
  7. theres more movies out there, but some are way too unrealistic (the matrix or tron...not the hacking, the movie it self is unrealistic. nothing wrong with that just didnt want it in the list.) or have like one little part of hacking. i just saw a movie the other day an it had some realistic hacking at the end but i cant remember what it was. as for my pick im gonna have to choose takedown. (i typed it as operation takedown which is the title of the book.) regardless if 2600 hates the movie, its still a movie based on kevin mitnick so it still kicks ass. wargames would have to be 2nd and anti trust 3rd.
  8. just dont mention you got the idea from me when the cops ask ;)

  17. source The tire pressure monitors built into modern cars have been shown to be insecure by researchers from Rutgers University and the University of South Carolina. The wireless sensors, compulsory in new automobiles in the US since 2008, can be used to track vehicles or feed bad data to the electronic control units (ECU), causing them to malfunction. Earlier in the year, researchers from the University of Washington and University of California San Diego showed that the ECUs could be hacked, giving attackers the ability to be both annoying, by enabling wipers or honking the horn, and dangerous, by disabling the brakes or jamming the accelerator. The new research shows that other systems in the vehicle are similarly insecure. The tire pressure monitors are notable because they're wireless, allowing attacks to be made from adjacent vehicles. The researchers used equipment costing $1,500, including radio sensors and special software, to eavesdrop on, and interfere with, two different tire pressure monitoring systems. The pressure sensors contain unique IDs, so merely eavesdropping enabled the researchers to identify and track vehicles remotely. Beyond this, they could alter and forge the readings to cause warning lights on the dashboard to turn on, or even crash the ECU completely. Unlike the work earlier this year, these attacks are more of a nuisance than any real danger; the tire sensors only send a message every 60-90 seconds, giving attackers little opportunity to compromise systems or cause any real damage. Nonetheless, both pieces of research demonstrate that these in-car computers have been designed with ineffective security measures. The Rutgers and South Carolina research will be presented at the USENIX Security conference later this week.

  20. Would it be possible to power the pineapple/fon via USB mod? that would eliminate the need for batteries and giving you unlimited use, providing your laptop battery dosnt die.
