why dont you just ssh into the phone to get the data off. or just copy all of it and figure out what you need then after you restore your phone replace the information.

I'm trying to triple boot my laptop with windows xp sp3, ubuntu 9.10, backtrack 4 final. windows was originally on the laptop. i first installed Ubuntu with out any problems. until i installed backtrack 4. then the ubuntu file could not be found when at boot menu. so i uninstalled and deleted the partition and recreated it and reinstalled ubuntu. it booted up a couple times fine, but now it just has a _ blinking on the top left corner of the screen. i know this does this when windows is loading though I'm still pretty new with Linux. not sure what i should do since it has been blinking like that for a good 10 minutes now. windows and backtrack are still working fine. Should i try to reinstall it again or does anyone have any idea?

i found an old Linksys Router model number WRK54G im not sure what the version is or if it even matters. i searched google about this and really could find the answer i was looking for. is it possible to put open/wrt on this router and then put jasager on it? if so what is the best way. if its possible i aslo want to put a battery pack on it. i know where it goes i just dont know were to find how much power it actually needs. thanks a ton.

im not really trying to install apps on the phone to do something with it i could use my phone that i carry around with me if i wanted to. i want to take the phone a part and dink with it and create something cool out if it. i just dont know if its possible.

well that wouldnt work for my non active phone. since it uses the phones internet and tethers it to you computer. and there is no connection to it. and i always have that on my 3GS that is jailbroken. i didnt know if there would be any way of taking it apart and maybe modding something to be more useful. not sure really. just think it would be sweet.

i have an old i phone 3g 16gb that i dont use since i got an iphone 3gs 16gb all it does is sit in the box. i know there are a lot of things like nmap and metasploit and many other tools on it. but i do that on my new phone. what im wondering is if there was anything i could do to my phone. hak5 style. like turning it into a fon or something along that line.

i still have no idea what happened but i fixed the problem. its really crazy my movies where in my backtrack 4 folder and then the My Pictures was in the Movies folder. crazy stressful but fixed. (i though i lost over 300Gb of movies)

i dont know what i did i was going to copy a folder over from one hard drive to another. i clicked the file and when to move it and while i was still dragging the folder it said copying My Pictures to Movies...... so i hit cancel now instead of over 300gb of movies in my movie folder i have a My Pictures folder with a few pictures before i canceled it... why was all my stuff deleted and is there anyway i can get it back?

i bought one a week a go i receive it 3 days ago. i like it still learning a lot about it. i didnt know if anyone has ever bought one or just had any opinions on them.

i got it second hand from my boss he gave me a couple im going to try the other one. if that doesnt work i will probably cough up the cash to buy a new one.

-update- okay i was going to try two things at the same time. i plugged my laptop directly into my router dont know if it help since the other thing seemed to fix the issue though it creates more issues. i plugged the cable from the wall into my pc instead of the switch and my speeed jumped right back up. so why is the switch killing my internet.

i use DHCP to allocate them but how do i know if that switches DHCP is turned off? every where i have looked there is no configuration for it. -edit- there is not DHCP on the switch online on the router.

not sure if im answering this right. but it goes from my modem to my router. on slot one is where my switch is plugged in. 2 and 3 go to my ps3 and my media tank. then on my switch it goes to 2 computer. going from my switch to my router will not work for some reason my wifi has problems. other then that i don't believe that there is any setup for my switch. there is one for my router but not sure what the security measures are for a wired connection.

i have a quick question only because i have never done this before and its killing my internet. i have a linksys WRT54G hooked into my modem. before i just just used to switch to manage my 2 computers and i used wireless for everything else and my normal download speed was about 1.25mbps. i wanted more things to be hardwired to my network (and get ride of that cable that ran all the way across my house) so i moved the modem and the linksys router to my living room. i placed a superstack 3 model: 3c16465c from 3com in my computer room i only have 2 machines running off that. while i have 3 things running off my linksys router my ps3, network media tank, and one to go to the other switch. my problem is since i have done that my internet speed has slowed down. i only have one machine on the computer im at now. im downloading one thing and its only going about 100kbps and its killing me is there something im doing wrong or does running it though two switches really kill your internet. thanks for your time and help. i also didn't know if i got a bandwidth manager if that would help anything.

I would have to agree. getting the knowledge is great but actually using it to steal thats just wrong.

this caught my eye kinda off topic and what not but when i use IDM for downloading things off rapidshare it eats all my traffic and i normally don't mind unless i want to do something else with the network are there any good programs to help you manage your traffic use for each computer or gaming system?

well i have a download plug in on my iphone so i can just click on the mp4 links and watch it.
