  1. do you know if it's an application build into the OS? I have a windows home server so I will have to see if it works with that but I can also access professional version if needed. I will look into it tomorrow. I will also look into Citrix tomorrow thanks for your help.
  2. I didn't know if there was a way to run software like x11 forwarding does for windows to windows i did a little searching and will continue and i came across Psexec the only thing is I can't figure out if it's secure or if there is a way to run an ssh server that would allow it.
  3. im in the process of installing eyeos on my linux box. i didnt know if anyone has had any experiences with it. i am able to get it up and running and run the install but after i enter my username and password when i go to eye and try to log on it wont let me. i have all the permissions at 777 in the /var/www folder.
  4. Whats really kicking my ass right now is. why my computer has bosd. (yes i know windows sucks) other then that i got pretty deep into C programming other then that i just cant find the time anymore for programming. kinda loosing my touch.
  5. the issue is not paying for software my boss just made it pretty clear that they don't want to pay $1000 for computer backup software. i didn't know if anyone knew of something similar to Shadow Protect. they really like the virtual imaging.
  6. my company is looking into a new server/computer backup software. my boss really likes ShadowProtect Server 4.0 http://store.storagecraft.com/acb/stores/1/ShadowProtect-Server-40-P149C19.aspx because of the fact that you can boot into a virtual machine and not have any downtime. the software is almost $1000 and i know that there has to be an open source program that someone has used or even just a cheaper solution. that does about the same thing. if anyone knows of anything let me know. thanks.

  11. The segments should be all you need to set this up. Darren did a great walk-though on this.
  12. im not a VNC expert but i would say no. because they are two different vnc servers, but it also might be compatible. i would say the best way to figure it out on your own is set it up and try to connect. also look into team viewer i use it and i love it. its web based or you can run some programs for it. its all free for personal use. enjoy. http://www.teamviewer.com/index.aspx
  13. old ipod touch. or iphone. jailbreak it =gold mine

  15. thanks a lot for this mate i think i will use pfsense. i really appreciate the information
  16. all i know is im getting annoyed with it. =) its just a pain in the *$* to find if the hardware is compatible. i am also still trying to figure out if any wifi cards are compatible.
  17. so this card should work with pfsense http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833127219
  18. i think i will stick with the mini itx i do agree with all of your points but i think i would have more fun building this. but my question is would this 2-Slot PCI Expansion Riser Card http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.21208 work with this motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813121398&cm_re=mini_itx_motherboard%2fcpu_combo-_-13-121-398-_-Product cuz this i could just add a wifi card and another nic.
  19. I was looking in to Smoothwall today because i want to build this. I noticed that they you can run Smoothwall as a virtual machine. Could you actually use your wall virtual server and just add Smoothwall to it and run a router inside of it? I'm just curious I'm new but very interested to the virtual world. I just don't understand it 100% and i never have time to just sit and read anymore. Anyways i loved the episode i really enjoyed how you showed a complete walk though. I'm interested in knowing where you purchases all your materials for this job. Also i wouldn't be able to use the motherboard that you used. i would need a wifi to make my wife happy. i saw this board though i didn't know if it was any good "Zotac H55-ITX-WiFi Socket LGA1156 Mini-ITX Motherboard" I know that you were talking about using two boards one with wifi pci slot i just didn't know if that would be cheaper. edit i think i will get this card. what do you guys think http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813153150&Tpk=mini%20itx%20motherboard%2fcpu%20combo
  20. just replace the port yourself its really easy. It would cost your about 5 dollars. You will also know if its actually broken or not. on topic: They will always try to rip you off or make you pay for more then you need.
  21. i would check out there return policy on them. then after buying it i wouldn't wait round installing it. make sure it works good if not return it.
  22. when you start all you REALLY HAVE TO DO IS level up(by doing quest and killing things). you can also do some pvp. which is fun. more fun once your a higher level.
  23. yeah i played for like 3 years as competitiveness with others and just to waste time. starting out sucks though cuz you have to go though so many levels to have a lots of fun! but word of advice quit now its a very addictive game.
  24. This could be a interesting topic. just think computer, wifi, cell phone, vpn network always have access to your home network.
