If your flying don't bring any liquids or anything else suspicions at most for carry on bring a change of cloths and something for the plane (laptop or ipod maybe).

Like to hear (read) your thoughts
Qoute of my reply on Slashdot
He has put out the word that he wants a dialogue with Iran.Yay were talking with a leader who alows the DEATH PENALTY on NINE YEAR OLD GIRLS and FIFTEEN YEAR OLD BOYS. --- That was total sarcasm. So lets be friends with Iran and talk to them so we can get are damn oil. Instead of stopping these blatant human rights issues. I must say Obama is so much better then Bush, not. Wake Up!!
He made changes with Guantanamo.
Ok he this is ok.
He's made changes in the tax system - albeit not enough for my tastes.
What steal from the rich and give to the poor. So lets take money from those who work and hire people (we kinda need jobs!) so they can't hire more people and give it to those who don't good job Obama!!!
He's dealing with one of the worst economies in decades.
Yes yes that is true so what he is going to stop capitalism from working and bailout those who took risks. Oh and I get to pay for it thanks.
It looks like we're finally getting out of Iraq and maybe things in Afghanistan will improve too
What so we can get are oil but let dictators who don't exactly see eye to eye with us in power. Yay!!!
.
Maybe he is a tool of the RIAA. I don't know, but considering the other shit happening in this World, the RIAA and their actions are not exactly high on people's list.
Yes their are bigger things but someone needs to tell the RIAA that money isn't everything!!
I'm all for third parties myself - I voted for Barr - but I think Obama is getting much of his changes through. It's just not the "working in the system peaceful revolution" that I think many folks expected.
I couldn't vote I just missed it by about a month :(. Yet I'll be paying taxes so that AIG can take risks they shouldn't have boy I'm glad we have Obama he going to fix everything. --- Again Sarcasm.

Ok my opinion is Yes under certain requirements.
a) it isn't taxes paying for it because computer break, kids screw with them, etc. Also then taxes would be paying for the new laptop if it is broken not the kid who broke it.
B) They are old clunkers ok not too old but in 7th grade I had a inspirion 5000. 50 gb, 500mhz 192RAM and win 2k it ran fine for school work. I bought with my money.
c) access is lockdown. If there are sights that arne't blocked and a teacher see a student on it they should be able to block it for the remainder of the class period
d) they don't go home
e) They are used in the classroom
f) The kids don't own them. If a kid wants a laptop do what I did buy one with their money (ok my parents helped too) off of ebay 500mhz inspirion are a decent price.
g) They are used for a good ten years (owe now their not going to be state of the art). They don't need fast computers word processing a research. Use an old firefox with adblock, no script and flashblock. But an old firefox will be virus riden... see h)
h) used steady state. Also limit save space and remap their my documents to a network drive so it won't get erased with steady state.
j) Lock down the start bar, my computer, etc... No run dialog, no all programs, etc. just have all the programs on a net drive and shortcuts on the computer desktop.
As for education I think every school should have this... ILC (Individualized Learning Center). I had it in my school for math and lit (both honors) and the teacher would assign homework and chapter for math we would read the section and do the work. If we had question we could ask her. Though it takes a teacher who loves to teach when that teacher retired ILC wasn't the same. But still I learned a lot more in those classes then I did in any other classes, it also got me to love math and literature.

I was just wondering has anyone else had a bad or good experience with apple?
I have recently I had a hard drive crash and I lost iTunes media luckily I had most of it backed up. But some file were sadly gone. I had tried many things and I then finally decided to contact apple. About nine hours later they had already contacted me saying that I could re download everything I had lost free of charge. I can know understand why people buy things with the apple tax and if there service is this good I see that their support rivals almost no one. So far the only support that could match apple is well Linux. Thanks apple.

If you tunnel it over SSH through DNS wouldn't that be more secure and faster?
P.S
Love you accent digininja.

Stingwray are you going to declare a winner? Can I start a new challenge? Is anyone still interested in this? Is this dead?

Ok these may seem harmless but I would be a little worried. Why? Well they might not know the true extent of what these do. Call me whatever you like just remember Coke use to contain Coke and then they found out it was addictive etc. No you could say what about caffeine its addictive well thats why I don't take it by the store load.

@Destro Thanks for that, I believe I heard that from somewhere but hearing it from a second source helps.
Shawty ya I'll probably look into java or VB, VB C++, or VB C#. It seems that I can easily integrate the command line python apps by compiling the exe with a .pyw extensions so their are no black boxes to free users out. Also for python I can just return the data using sys.exit(i) and have the gui use it. Also thanks everyone for giving you insights, help, and experience it is much appreciated. Thanks again.

Right know I'm trying to decide whether to use GTK and Glade or Visual C++ (would require learning new language but that might help me with getting concepts in programming I don't get but everyone else does :))
-
thanks for the suggestions. ratmandall where did you learn gtk+? Is it the same as pygtk? and if so all the tutorials I've found use classes and yours doesn't can you still make more than a simple gui with it?

Thanks so much for all the replys. Is it same on free version? Would the program have .Net dependencies? Is it same old C++ or a Microsoft modified version? Thanks again for the replys.
-
Thanks for the reply I have actually been thinking about maybe C++ but I doubt that would be any easier for GUI's. Then again I could still use python and just you VB as a shell hmm. The reply is much appreciated.

I have been learning and writing python applications for awhile now and over time have tried to learn a GUI toolkit. Having tried several I have always ended up confused, bewildered, and frustrated. Is it just me, is it that python isn't meant for GUIs? I would like to here your thoughts. Am I just someone doomed to command line applications? Should I try a new language for creating GUIs? Has anyone else had this type of problem (trying to create GUI programs)? Thanks for you input.

OK both of file were not detected by symantec
-
Try typing the whole e.g makefile.mingw.in for each of the files and see if that works.

Hey n00b here. :D I know this is an older topic, but if you were to make say a hak5 distro. If anything it should be filled with network security tools, and ect, yet light weight enough to run on about any computer from say a flash drive. I have a good 10-15 linux livecd's downloaded each do a different purpose, but if all this was combined. It could be pretty epic.
Ok Aaron you have the idea then start working on it... Actions speak louder then words.

Well get use to it we have four more years to HOPE for more of this. I guess that is what you can expect from the government today. :)
Sadly some germs we fear have been in our kitchens for centuries (Not sure about salmonella, but then again it is good to have variety) and the belief that you should kill any bacteria (bacteria I necessary for life!)plus the use of disinfectant stops us from gaining resistance. I in fact now a family who use it all the time and they are constantly sick. The report also concluded that salmonella has been around American kitchens for centuries now -
How can you change the color of a python program over multiple OS, without using curese?

For those who think that you would never need 12 gb of Ram two words.. Bill Gates
" Who in their right mind would ever need more than 640k of RAM?"
or
"640k should be more than enough for anybody."

Thank God we don't have Bush, Obama is going to save the RIAA
in Everything Else

It is stealing I never said it wasn't and yes there are bigger things to deal with so instead of defending the RIAA deal with the bigger issues Obama doesn't have to support the RIAA yet he has or at least his DOJ has.
