You will need a website to upload it to, like your own site, or something like Imageshack, photobucket, or some other hosting site that allows image and flash file uploads. Then use the embed tags I showed you from the other thread and MySpace will automatically add the Object tags for you in your profile. felony_destined
oh, thats cool... also, I followed a tutorial with this and I umm.. plublished it? and when I did that, I made like 3different files aim button.fla aim button.html aim button.swf do I need to upload like all of these? or save in a different format or what? I'm really lost with what to do with these files
felony_destined
Upload Error The file "aim button.swf" is a SWF: SWF file uploading is no longer available on free accounts. SWF files can be uploaded to PRO accounts only. can anyone vouch for a decent 'free' flash uploading site?

I'm really lost with what to do with these files The FLA is the project file in case you ever want to go back and edit it, say to change the website it launches. The SWF is the flash file itself. The HTML is just so you can preview it or modify the code when embedding it. As far as Flash uploading sites, I have my own site, so I do not need to host it somewhere else, but try http://imageshack.us/ I know they allow swf uploads, but not sure if they filter them just for video. felony_destined
oh yeah and it made another file I forgot to post AC_RunActiveContent.js I'm assuming its a javascript file, anyways... I dont need to upload that too, do I? just the swf file? and photobucket allows swf uploads but only on pro accounts, and mine is free so yeah... I'll try imageshack next? if all else fails, would you mind uploading the file to your site for me?

felony_destined
when i was in the publisher settings, I changed the "local playback security" from "access local files only" to "access network only" should I change it back to local files only? You only need it local when testing it locally, but network when uploading it to a site.
felony_destined
right, well... I set it to network before I uploaded it to the site and its STILL set to network, so I'm unsure what the problem now might be and also... is it possible to have transparency in flash files? because I noticed that the image I imported was gif and it had some transparent parts in the background but once in flash it turned white
felony_destined
ok, this is interesting... I noticed that the code I put on myspace was this: <embed src='http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/9341/aimbuttonrc7.swf' quality='high' pluginspage='http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' width='120' height='60'></embed> and after I uploaded that, i guess myspace automatically changed it to this: <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowScriptAccess="never" allowNetworking="internal" height="60" width="120" data="http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/9341/aimbuttonrc7.swf"> Â <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="never" /> Â <param name="allowNetworking" value="internal" /> Â <param name="movie" value="http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/9341/aimbuttonrc7.swf" /> Â <param name="quality" value="high" /> </object> and I noticed that the value of the script access condition is set to never, I'm unsure of the proper santax to allow it, also the "allownetworking" value is set to internal, is this a problem aswell? I remember seeing something about that in the error. looks like myspace beat me again, theres gotta be a way to get flash files to get urls because theres flash advertizements on myspace that when clicked give you advertized websites
digip
Looks like they block external URLS from Flash files now. Still think there is a way to do it with flash, but not sure at the moment. I get it to load the button, but when I click it nothing happens. Alternatively, you can try this: <a href="http://www.msplinks.com/MDFhaW06Z29pbT9zY3JlZW5uYW1lPXhpRmlua3gmbWVzc2FnZT1IaS4rQXJlK3lvdSt0aGVyZQ==" target="aim">Aim Me</a> Click go In your Broswser to IM me. It will open a new window with the aim link, and if it does not launce AIM, just click go in the browser. Still not a solution, but I am sure there is a way to do it somehow. If other people can do it with phishing sites and shit using flash, then there has to be a way around it, just need to find the loophole. felony_destined
I see, how exactly did you come up with that url? http://www.msplinks.com/MDFhaW06Z29pbT9zY3JlZW5uYW1lPXhpRmlua3gmbWVzc2FnZT1IaS4rQXJlK3lvdSt0aGVyZQ==" target="aim"

Actually, if you take the part after http://www.msplinks.com/ and convert it to plain text from Base64, you get the link to the aim command. I just converted it to Base64 the way MySpace does all links so it wouldnt append it to www.myspace.com when clicked on normally.
