hsncorrosion Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 Is there any "Free" way to do these 3 things, without having to open up my ps2? 1. Use a Corsair Flash Voyager (4gb flash drive) as memory? 2. Play game cube games on the ps2? (I'm sure you'll ask why I don't use a gamecube... Well it because I don't have enough a/v plugs to use it without switching the cables all the time and cannot afford a switch atm.) 3. Run a copied game shark cd? I have not yet tried #3 at all as I don't have cd-r's to spare. I've looked on google but most mods are hard mods or require you to disassemble your ps2 in some way Quote
deleted Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 game cube games wont work as they are for Power PC and the PS2 uses RISC. Copying games, noughty noughty!!! The only way to use a USB memory Stick is to have PS2 linux on it and it dosent get sold anymore (ebay?) Quote
hsncorrosion Posted December 25, 2007 Author Posted December 25, 2007 copying gameshark--- not really a game (gamcube games all legit) ok.... thanks Quote
Famicoman Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 1. Use a Corsair Flash Voyager (4gb flash drive) as memory? Like what has been said, anything is possible with linux, there are homebrew distros, but they can be hard to find, and running the disc would require a swap disc or slide card. 2. Play game cube games on the ps2? (I'm sure you'll ask why I don't use a gamecube... Well it because I don't have enough a/v plugs to use it without switching the cables all the time and cannot afford a switch atm.) Emulation may be possible, but running the gamecube specs on top of the playstation 2 software would be difficult, even computer emulators can't get here if I understand. 3. Run a copied game shark cd? I have not yet tried #3 at all as I don't have cd-r's to spare. I've looked on google but most mods are hard mods or require you to disassemble your ps2 in some way Using a swap disc and a slide card would probably allow you to do this, although I hear gamesharks are a commodity to be used as a swap disc, so swapping a swap disc would not be too cool if that is what you are considering the gameshark for.
