Sgt_Josh Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Hi All, After a recent show of numbers, where they tracked IP phones to servers then locations. It begs in my mind when using IP phones what general type of security do they use? Can it be hacked? And more important what extra measures can you take to protect yourself from big brother? It got me thinking maybe you as well. Thanks Josh Quote
Shaun Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 Depends what you use, Skype uses end-to-end encryption so the traffic itself is fairly secure, but you can still see where traffic is coming from and going to (although Skype is a P2P system so perhaps the P2P traffic gives you some plausible deniability). Sgt_Josh Posted March 23, 2007 Author Posted March 23, 2007 Can you enable higher encryption in Skype? and if Skype servers get hacked this would have no bearing because of the the end to end encryption right? Quote
metatron Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 Try Gizmo and Zfone if your short on cash and experience. Quote
