RoarkLaughed Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 I use PureVPN (Linux compatible) and am wondering if it is possible to configure the pineapple to run the VPN? I assume the answer is "no", but figured I'd ask. I've not found anyone else asking this on the forums. Thank you.
RoarkLaughed Posted August 27, 2022 Author Posted August 27, 2022 To use the pineapple as a VPN router/AP when travelling.
dark_pyrro Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 If PureVPN supports CLI OpenVPN, then it should be possible to run it on the Pineapple.
RoarkLaughed Posted August 27, 2022 Author Posted August 27, 2022 Yes PureVPN does support CLI OpenVPN. There is a tutorial on their website on how to do it, though I cant get past the first command "sudo apt-get install openvpn". I just get "command not found".
dark_pyrro Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 There's no apt on the Pineapple since it's OpenWrt. You have to use opkg instead. opkg update opkg install <whatever package>

I came across this topic and I am trying a similar approach in a lab setting for a class. The assignment essentially involves to hide my identity within a large network setting. So if I do: opkg install tor for the tor module I am assuming. That just gets Tor onto the pineapple. Would I be able to use Proxychains in conjunction with Tor? Would I be able to use SSH or the web shell to run a proxy with Proxychains on the command line of the pineapple to accomplish this?

dark_pyrro Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 I always use opkg the same way regardless of geographic location without issues, traveling or not
