Dave-ee Jones Posted August 15, 2017 Share Posted August 15, 2017 That's assuming that it blocks out the ENTIRE sun, but most eclipses leave an outline which in some cases is worse than looking directly at the sun (which is why people had invented special glasses - the slits - to block some of it out so they could see some of the eclipse).
