BIG T Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Hello, After some help... I am trying to connect my WiFi nano to a cheap IoT lightbulb I have bought from eBay. I would like to read the data which is on the bulb using my Pineapple Nano. Which modules would be the best to download? And what other advice would you give me? Thanks! Quote
Lord_KamOS Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 TCPDump, Dwall, SSLSplit, Ettercap, anything that can view traffic i guess But are you sure the nano connects to the light bulb and not the other way around? Quote
BIG T Posted July 31, 2017 Author Posted July 31, 2017 Well, I was hoping that the bulb would connect to the nano and the nano can do a live read of the bulb. The bulb doesn't have a hub like a hue so I wasn't sure. I'm basically just wanting to do a read. Seeing if I can extract data such as when was it last turned on and off... Quote
Lord_KamOS Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 (edited) What kind of system is it? And how do you use it? Should be possible Edited July 31, 2017 by Lord_KamOS Quote
BIG T Posted July 31, 2017 Author Posted July 31, 2017 It connects through the WiFi in your house and has a companion app with it... I was thinking of jumping between the lightbulb and router to see if I could see anything then. Quote
Lord_KamOS Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Maybe try PineAP, but if you want help i will need the model name of the system. Quote

Lord_KamOS Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Is it that hard to post the URL to the product page? Anyway if you phone connects to the light with the app, maybe try and MITM your phone and the light and then use TCPDump, or try reverse engineer the app. Quote
BIG T Posted July 31, 2017 Author Posted July 31, 2017 It wouldn't work. Thanks I'll give it a try! Quote
