josh-with-a-zero Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 Ubuntu 16.04 host. New pineapple. Updated firmware. Pineapple fails to connect to internet, despite tcpdump showing traffic across interface. $ifconfig eno1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 10:c3:7b:6d:a5:cd << This is the internet facing interface inet addr:192.168.0.14 Bcast:192.168.0.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 inet6 addr: 2600:8801:1302:6600:e04d:8b64:eb96:9e4a/64 Scope:Global inet6 addr: 2600:8801:1302:6600:a867:4a1e:f24d:352d/64 Scope:Global inet6 addr: fe80::305a:e2a3:2de1:9146/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:42859762 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:20346215 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:55269314261 (55.2 GB) TX bytes:2185657471 (2.1 GB) Interrupt:20 Memory:dff00000-dff20000 enx00c0ca91b4ed Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:c0:ca:91:b4:ed << This is the pineapple usb interface inet addr:172.16.42.42 Bcast:172.16.42.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 inet6 addr: fe80::9e5a:284f:c834:5d2b/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:19459 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:19639 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:5511580 (5.5 MB) TX bytes:6134140 (6.1 MB) $sudo ./wp5.sh Pineapple Netmask [255.255.255.0]: Pineapple Network [172.16.42.0/24]: Interface between PC and Pineapple [eth0]: enx00c0ca91b4ed Interface between PC and Internet [wlan0]: eno1 Internet Gateway [192.168.0.1]: IP Address of Host PC [172.16.42.42]: IP Address of Pineapple [172.16.42.1]: _ . ___ \||/ Internet: 192.168.0.1 - eno1 ( _ )_ <--> [___] <--> ,<><>, Computer: 172.16.42.42 (_ _(_ ,) \___\ '<><>' Pineapple: 172.16.42.0/24 - enx00c0ca91b4ed Browse to http://172.16.42.1:1471 At this point I access the web interface and it fails to connect. b0N3z Posted May 30, 2017 Posted May 30, 2017 you need the wp6.sh from http://www.wifipineapple.com/wp6.sh Quote
b0N3z Posted May 30, 2017 Posted May 30, 2017 youve got the ip of your host wrong. you have it set as 172.16.42.42. thats not your pc's ip thats the pineapple. Quote
josh-with-a-zero Posted June 1, 2017 Author Posted June 1, 2017 The pineapple is hosting a dhcp service. That is why it is set as 172.16.42.1. I browsed the script and it looks like the host gets an ip from the pineapple and sets up forwarding so the pineapple can access the internet through the host. Is this incorrect? Quote
b0N3z Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 Correct, the Pineapple sharing internet with the host. IP Address of Host PC [172.16.42.42] <---------this needs to be your pc IP address which from your ifconfig it is 192.168.0.14 change that and see what it does Quote
