Help with Mac (Yosemite) please

Recommended Posts

I've been trying to set up connection sharing on my Mac running Yosemite following the instructions on the wiki:

but they must be for an older version of iOS. Specifically, I can get the Ethernet port configured as and connect to the Pineapple web interface, and set up Internet Sharing to supposedly share my Wi-Fi connection over the Ethernet port.

In step 5, there is no "bridge100" device showing in ifconfig.

In step 6, the /etc/bootpd/plist has no mention of the 172.16.42 network, nor is there a key called net_range. Here's my bootpd.plist file:

sh-3.2# cat bootpd.plist

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">

<plist version="1.0">

Any help would be appreciated.

Offhand I recall there is a rather long topic about just that issue, though I don't have the link to hand. If you do a search through the Mark V forums for Mac related issues it should pop up.

I believe the issue is due to how OSX does internet sharing, though feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

Quick edit:

I found it: https://forums.hak5.org/index.php?/topic/33801-mac-osx-internet-sharing-with-wifi-pineapple-howto/
