Guest Panarchy
I'm using Mcafee and I don't think much of it. I was wondering when Nod32 is coming out on Vista or a virus scanning program as good as it! Please reply, Panarchy

Sparda
oh ye, never used it... Microsoft did say that there were going to open up there Kernel with some kindof API so anti-virus software writers can do stuff with it.

But wouldn't that be exploitable and thus defeating the object of the closed kernel? :/

It's almost like they were forced to put holes in their OS so that the AV guys would have something to do

Sparda
Kernel API = Easy to make root kits for all! Perhaps the kernel should be restructured to be more like a BSD kernel? ;)
