Its not the card that does the cracking, only the monitoring of connections, so you can capture traffic. Other programs in bt, do the cracking, not the nic itself. digininja Posted June 3, 2013 Share Posted June 3, 2013 Sarcastic reply, it depends how hard you hit it with it. Real reply, you've asked the wrong question. The Alfa is a wireless card, all it does it send and receive packets, Backtrack is a security testing distribution containing lots of different tools. Roughly what you are trying to ask is will the Alfa card work with the tools on Backtrack to help you try to crack your WPA-PSK or to find your WPS key. The answer to that is yes.
