lonypny
Hi. I can't find realtek-firmware or rtlwifi packages. Also any place where I can download the SDK and build my own rtlwifi?
Sebkinne
Hi. I can't find realtek-firmware or rtlwifi packages. Also any place where I can download the SDK and build my own rtlwifi? The RTL8180 kmod (RTL818X driver) is already built into the firmware.
lonypny
Yup, I know! Tried various things. The included drivers (rtl8180 which state they are for PCI, and rtl8187 for USB) do _not_ work with the mentioned chip (RTL8188CUS). Somebody attacked this issue with raspberryPi already. Changelog, Introduction: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/80256631/install-rtl8188cus.txt and the script is here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/80256631/install-rtl8188cus-latest.sh. Karl
I don't know if this is relevant but I have had trouble with the rtl8188CUS driver included in the linux kernel on my PC. Had to blacklist it and use the driver on the realtek website. And I haven't had any luck using it on the pineapple, shows up in lsusb but that's it. Unfortunately there is no way to compile the drivers without having the kernel sources....

jesuslover
The RTL8180 kmod (RTL818X driver) is already built into the firmware. Yes, it is. Now you know. I know I just said what you said by saying 'Yes. it is', I just wanted to restate that fact. Edited September 30, 2013 by ALPHAHASAD
