JavaGeek
I'm thinking of dual booting Ubuntu and Windows 7.I'm just curious if Dual booting will cause any kinda performance degradation.

abferm
Unless you have a dinky HDD it shouldn't degrade anything but your startup time. This would only be because it will wait for you to choose an OS.
Morfir
The only reason it would effect your preformance is if your Hard Drive doesn't have enough room for virtual memory. When the space on your hard drive isn't being used to store files and etc, part of the free or inactive space is used for virtual memory. If you use up all of the space then your hard drive does not have any extra space for virtual memory. Regards, Morfir
