Grayson5
Does anyone use an HP dv5 laptop? If so, does the wireless card support monitor mode and packet injection? How is the overall performance? Thanks!
okiwan
what kind of chipset is in it?
chikpee
Mentioned this in another thread.....if it doesn't, buy a cheap $30 USB wireless adapter that does. I use a D-Link Wireless G (WUA-1340) for just this purpose with my HP Mini, whose internal wireless card doesn't have a monitor mode driver yet reverse-engineered for it. Here's a slightly old list of wireless cards (internal and external) with what chipset they have and how well they do monitor mode, packet injection, etc. The real nice thing about having the second wireless card for kismet, aircrack-ng, etc. is that you can still connect to the internet with the first one while you're sniffing packets with the other!
