Does anyone use an HP dv5 laptop? If so, does the wireless card support monitor mode and packet injection? How is the overall performance? Thanks!

Hi, I am an experienced PC user and run BackTrack 4 as a USB Persistent device on my laptop. However, I am considering getting a new laptop and was looking at Mac Pro's. I know I can run windows on those, but since I don't know that much about Mac's I was wondering if they will dual-boot (or run off a USB) BackTrack 4 and other versions of Linux such as Ubuntu? Yes! Got the SD card to work. Following Paul's suggestion I got a voltmeter and could see that the SD card was not getting power. I re-soldered that pin and now the PC can read the card. Thanks for the help Paul. Now on to the fun stuff.....coding!

Got it to work. I installed Arduino 0019 and the updated versions of teensyduino and teensy loader. My new question is how to I get the serial monitor to work? I've selected the USB type of SDCard + Keyboard, but when I do the Serial Port menu option is grayed out. Thanks.

Update: I downloaded Arduino 0019 and the new teensyduino and teensy files and I think I may have solved the compile problem. Need to get back home and hook up the teensy board and verify. If that works I just need to get the PC to recognize the SD card. Getting closer.....

Hi, I am trying to compile some of the example programs that come with the SDFat library and I am getting a consistent error across every sample I try. I have loaded teensyduino 0.9 and teensy 1.06 and imported the SDFat library. The errors I am getting are: from C:\John\Security\arduino-0018\libraries\SdFat\SdFile.cpp:22: c:/john/security/arduino-0018/hardware/tools/avr/lib/gcc/../../avr/include/math.h:439: error: expected unqualified-id before 'double' c:/john/security/arduino-0018/hardware/tools/avr/lib/gcc/../../avr/include/math.h:439: error: expected `)' before 'double' c:/john/security/arduino-0018/hardware/tools/avr/lib/gcc/../../avr/include/math.h:439: error: expected `)' before 'double' I've looked at the math.h file and don't see any errors. I even reinstalled the file in case it was corrupted but still got the same error. Since it is occurring with all of the example programs I've tried I don't think the problem is in the example code. Has anyone had the same problem? Any suggestions?

Thanks Paul. I will pick up a voltmeter tomorrow and follow your instructions. One other strange thing is happening. When I unplug the SD card from the breadboard and just plug in the teensy I still get the same error. The PC thinks that there is an "E" drive when the SD card is not even plugged in. I am using Arduino-0018 and teensyduino 0.9 and I imported the SDfat library (although I am having problems compiling the examples. Paul, I'm not sure what the issue is. I have both an SanDisk and PNY microSD card (both 2GB). They both work with the microSD adapter, but when I try to read the card with my Teensy and SD card adapter I get a "Please insert disk" error. Any idea what this could be? I soldered the pins onto the SD card and I am using a breadboard to connect the SD card to the Teensy per the pictures in my post above. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Update: I was able to get the Teensyduino 0.9 and Teensy Loader 1.06 to work and compile the Blink code. Now when I plug the teensy into the PC the PC registers an E: drive but I cannot access it. It says "Please insert a disk into removable drive E:". I have a 2GB Sandisk card in the SD drive. I know this card works since I use it in my Blackberry. Any suggestions?

Well, I should have seen that...... :o Thanks that worked and the code compiled. Now to try and get the SD card to be recognized.

My friend recently asked me my opinion on this question due to my hacking background so I thought I would ask the group here for your input. My friend is going through a divorce with his spouse. They have email accounts with their cable provider. She recently reset his password and broke into his account and read his email. He has now figured out how to do the same thing with her gmail account. Does anyone know the legal position of breaking into and reading a spouses email? Is there a difference between a cable email account (since it could be considered joint ownership) and gmail? I told him to fight fire with fire and check out the gmail account, but wasn't sure of the legal ramifications. What's your view? Thanks.

I am trying to start coding using the SD card (which I am having problems with, but that's in another post ). Anyway, I have two installs of Arduino. The first is my original install using the "regular" version of teensyduino found at http://www.pjrc.com/teensy/td_download.html This one works fine programming without the SD card. I select teensy 2.0 (USB Keyboard/Mouse) and everything works fine testing with the blink program. Now, I setup another instance of Arduino with the version teensyduino 0.9 found here --> http://www.pjrc.com/teensy/experimental.html When I try to compile the same blink code I get an error compiling saying version 1.6 of the teensy loader is needed. However, the latest version I can find is 1.5 which works fine in my other instance of Arduino. Am I missing a setting? Any suggestions? Thanks.

OK, need a little help/advice here with the SD card. I've soldered the pins onto the SD chip so I could use it with the breadboard. I then tried to connect it to the teensy using wires (see the two pictures - attachments). 5 wires on each side of the SD card connecting it to the first five pins of each side of the teensy chip. My question is: should my PC see the SD card when I plug the teensy into it? I was expected an F: drive or something to show up? The code on the board is currently just some test code to open CMD and do a directory listing. I've not compiled the SD library yet since I wanted to first make sure the PC could see the SD card. Is this a valid approach? Am I doing something wrong/incorrect here? Thanks for any help.

Hi, My contract on my Blackberry (AT&T) is up and I am looking to change devices. Any suggestions on which device would work best for WiFi Pen Testing and Hacking? My company has not approved Android devices yet. They claim security issues so I am limited to iPhone and Windows Mobile. Has anyone had success with the iPhone (with or without Jailbreaking). Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

In addition to what the other folks have said make sure you so the following: 1. You need to start the Wireless Interface program (not sure of the office name) /etc/init.d/wicd start 2. The go into the graphic Wireless Manager (WICD) and from there you should see a list of available SSID's. Select your home network, click on the arrow to configure your security option and then click connect. That should do it.

Hi, I've been playing with the Teensy and would like to move to using the SD Adapter that I purchased. While I am an experienced programmer, soldering and reading schematics is somewhat new to me. I've look at the schematics on the pjrc website, but I am unsure of the mapping of the SD pins to the Teensy pins (other than the voltage). For example, what pin on the Teensy does the SW pin from the SD map to? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
