Pineapple +windows

hey need some basic help please i have the alfa witch i use to connect to my access point then plugin my pineapple on my eth0 through a crossover cable once its connected cannot browse any pages through my wireless and cannot get net connection even from the fon i tried to bridge the connections between the wireless and the pineapple but no go it says cannot be done basicly not sure if the info i provided is enough sorry running windows xp

Without more info I'd guess you've got an IP conflict somewhere. Check that everything has a unique IP address and that the subnets are correct.

Make sure you're not being given an IP by dnsmasq on the Fon, otherwise it messes with your Default Gateway. Set a static IP.

ahh from what im looking at the ip of my computer is 192.168.0.* and so is the fon thank you very much for the reply will let you know

so changed the ip address on my router to 192.168.1.1 and the pineapple is *.0.1 still not letting me bridge the connection would this have something to do with a setting inside the x-wrt?

Its too late at night for me to think straight about it but you have to make sure the subnets match, you can't have a device on 192.168.1.1 talk to 192.168.0.1 without having a router between them and setting a default gateway.
