RandomClown
I Googled how to disable the sync window forever without changing too many things, but found no results. I thought back Process Monitor which appeared on Hak5 during the Virus Zoo segment. [big thanks guys!] With Process Monitor, I found out about a DLL called "PortableDeviceApi" & deleted it. I Googled the DLL, but did not find anything detailed on what it is. [or wasnt looking hard enough] Woot! WMP11 STFUed about syncing my thumb drive, threatening to wipe my drive if I hit OK. I restarted the computer & saw no errors or anything bad, so I assume everything is OK... If anyone else wants to experiment & find flaws with this method, the file is: C:\Windows\System32\PortableDeviceApi.dll
C-S-B
You could try unloading the DLL instead of deleting it.
RandomClown
hmm? Whats unloading? I dont think that would be any different than moveing the DLL, is it? I backed it up, so I think that would count as moving.
C-S-B
regsvr32 -u <dll to unload> This command is also useful for cleaning up corrupt dll that you can't delete or removing files related to spyware. Use the same command without the -u trigger to load a DLL.
