  1. Ok, I want a 3-column css layout with a fixed width, and a header and footer. I want all three columns to be the same height at all times, as you can see in the picture in the first post the middle is shorter and when i add text to it the side colums are shorter, i found this link http://www.positioniseverything.net/articl...d_pagemaker.php but that was made with a layout generator but i dont like that because i dont really know whats going on
  2. I need some help with some CSS if anyone knows whats wrong here. My problem is described in the image below, for many it may be a simple problem with a simple answer but i can not find a solution to this problem: http://i72.imagethrust.com/i/148519/help.gif thanks!
  3. just the conversations, just to be sure that only the person i am chatting with is able to view the message
  4. Which Instant Messaging program is more secure, Gaim or Trillian? Or what is the most secure instant messenger program that supports multiple protocols (Must have at least AIM, Yahoo!, and ICQ)?
  5. thanks for the link tabath, i dont know about the file, i am going to start over tonight with the standard drivers that come with linux
  6. as far as i know it was, when i asked this same question on ubuntuforums.com theytold me i needed to install binary drivers and they gave me a link to ubuntu's site on how to do it,and i got no errors during installation of that so im gussing it was, but i have to reinstall windows on that machine also (dual boot) so i am probably going to start over and try changing BusID with it back on the old drivers and see if that works
  7. Ok I have the log file, i also changed the BusID and it still gave me the same problem. Well I installed with Text-Mode and on first bootup i got the same error, so here is what is in the xorg.conf file: # /etc/X11/xorg.conf (xorg X Window System server configuration file) # # This file was generated by dexconf, the Debian X Configuration tool, using # values from the debconf database. # # Edit this file with caution, and see the /etc/X11/xorg.conf manual page. # (Type "man /etc/X11/xorg.conf" at the shell prompt.) # # This file is automatically updated on xserver-xorg package upgrades *only* # if it has not been modified since the last upgrade of the xserver-xorg # package. # # If you have edited this file but would like it to be automatically updated # again, run the following command: # sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg Section "Files" FontPath "/usr/share/X11/fonts/misc" FontPath "/usr/share/X11/fonts/cyrillic" FontPath "/usr/share/X11/fonts/100dpi/:unscaled" FontPath "/usr/share/X11/fonts/75dpi/:unscaled" FontPath "/usr/share/X11/fonts/Type1" FontPath "/usr/share/X11/fonts/100dpi" FontPath "/usr/share/X11/fonts/75dpi" # path to defoma fonts FontPath "/var/lib/defoma/x-ttcidfont-conf.d/dirs/TrueType" EndSection Section "Module" Load "i2c" Load "bitmap" Load "ddc" Load "dri" Load "extmod" Load "freetype" Load "glx" Load "int10" Load "type1" Load "vbe" EndSection Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Generic Keyboard" Driver "kbd" Option "CoreKeyboard" Option "XkbRules" "xorg" Option "XkbModel" "pc104" Option "XkbLayout" "us" EndSection Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Configured Mouse" Driver "mouse" Option "CorePointer" Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice" Option "Protocol" "ExplorerPS/2" Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5" Option "Emulate3Buttons" "true" EndSection Section "InputDevice" Driver "wacom" Identifier "stylus" Option "Device" "/dev/wacom" # Change to # /dev/input/event # for USB Option "Type" "stylus" Option "ForceDevice" "ISDV4" # Tablet PC ONLY EndSection Section "InputDevice" Driver "wacom" Identifier "eraser" Option "Device" "/dev/wacom" # Change to # /dev/input/event # for USB Option "Type" "eraser" Option "ForceDevice" "ISDV4" # Tablet PC ONLY EndSection Section "InputDevice" Driver "wacom" Identifier "cursor" Option "Device" "/dev/wacom" # Change to # /dev/input/event # for USB Option "Type" "cursor" Option "ForceDevice" "ISDV4" # Tablet PC ONLY EndSection Section "Device" Identifier "ATI Technologies, Inc. 11. Well I have downloaded the alternative install cd and i am installing in text-based mode, so far its working, ill post here if it works Another question, has anyone had this problemthat i am having using linux, where the spaces kind of dont always getput in or thereis a space that is added atthe beginningn when you start typing, it gets really bad when you post something like i am doing now as you can probably see, i have a logitech mx700 wireless keyboard and mouse, this is not a problem in windows just on linux machines
  12. No I havent been able to install it, it is trying to boot from the cd into the GUI so I can install it but it doesnt get that far, it just says it fails and asks me if i want to view technical information, I did and that told me to look in the log file, so i got out of that and i was at a command prompt for the livecd user, I then looked at the log file and thats what it said
  13. Where can i get it at? I cant find it on the cd
  14. When installing Ubuntu AMD64 I get an error saying that X11 could not be set up. I viewed the Xorg.0.log file and towards the end it said something like "Display can not be found" what should I do? :?: BTW The Graphics Card I Use Is an ATI RADEON X700 Pro PCI-E
