  1. What files do you now see? There should be an EMPTY autoexec.bat file there for backwards compatibility, but its hidden. ;)

Quite - I know it's there, and why.  nicatronTg recommended putting commands in there, assuming it would run them automatically.  I was simply pointing out that this would be futile if the OS is XP.

:0, forgot about the XP problem. Autoexe was used for %PATH% and other variable related commands. I hate when I do that.

  2. what tool did you use?

I know apps like acronis disk director will allow you to do this though i have never tried it.

The best way to do something like this would be to buy another HDD and move all the data over.  HDD's are cheap so if its important i would try that instead.

Partitions are evil!!! whoever created partitions should rot in hell, the former sysadmin at my work insisted on splitting a normal HDD into like 4 partitions for backup or something i never understood why.

If partitions were evil, how come they saved my butt numerous times. I deleted part of windows once, but my clone partition had my stuff. A couple clicks and I had windows XP again.

  3. I was wondering if there is a USB Hacks section because when I try to access it I get this message.

The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you.

It might be because I don't have the proper access

You weren't logged in.?! That could be it...

That makes the existence of this thread even more impressive

    /sarcasm

  5. How would I explain the Ubuntu logo and infinite time?
    don't, play dumb.

very funny, but they have wireless. You need the SSID and the WPA2-Enterprise passcode. I read a way to get those, but I forget.

you never said anything about that, but it matters not both are easy to get

I didn't start this thread. I presumed that he had all of the info for the connections sake.

  6. change the system time to 20 minutes ago and see if you can go online

Hmmm.... good idea, how should we carry it out?

Ohh, that's simple: Shut the computer down, guess the bios password (which in... about 5% of all cases might be set), then guess the windows logon password.. or make a librarian log you on.. simple.. maybe :D

PC res is the login. It can be overidden with a special library card and pin

this is the most pointless thread ever.

Get your own computer and ISP

    Solved.

Or if your want to be a 1337 hacker then boot from a USB drive or CD, though the library staff may wonder what the hell you are doing.

How would I explain the Ubuntu logo and infinite time?

  7. I don't think it has an x86 processor, just some ARM thingy, which means your not going to be running anything on it tbh.

Like the DS? We could try to port stuff from the ds's ARM9 to the ARM in the touch...?

  8. I read this topic about 6 or 7 times,

but i cannot see how to fix this unpacking thing.

so if you can show me? :S

    Try 7-Zip. http://7-zip.org/.

It zips better than many other programs, extracts about all formats, and is free. I've used the command-line version in my project http://forums.hak5.org/index.php/topic,8347.0.html. I strongly recommend it.

After installing, just right-click on the file->7-Zip>Extract Here.

I second that, 7zip has never failed me... it is theGreatArchiver

  9. i never thought of that, but this would be a good way to get like the name of .flv files in other players like ABC or Foxes online player, assuming that they are not encrpyting them.

Yah, the internet video system of the future

  10. I'm surprised that this has not patched yet, it doesn't seem very difficult to fix, you just need something to wipe the ram chips when your done with them. Though if your HDD encrypted whatever is doing the wipe couldn't be encrypted. Probably something that would need to be added to the BIOS or bootloader.

This is why they need the built-in crypto chips that are actually physically impossible to remove the key from because no command is built in to the chip that will output the keys.

Another great example of someone not fully testing there product, i imagine that the developers just assumed like 99% of people in the world that RAM dissipated quickly after power was cut.

That would take forever to clear the RAM. To completely remove the data, you would need to flood the entire ram chip with mass amounts of random crap.

  11. Yah, it does more bad then good to merge partitions. I tried this once, ended up copying everything I cared about onto a flash drive, and reformatting. I guess, if you had access to the physical locations of the partition, you could repartition the drive to the exact specs... but that may conflict if you defragmented.

So, copy all files you need / care about, and do a reformat.

  12. autoexe.bat - I forget where it is, but just add those commands to that script, and they will run on log on, or on start (I forget)

This should work, unless it calls another script, because the other script will not be processed on boot, canceling out the effect of the file itself.

  13. Alrighty, Cool, Thanks for the help :P , everything seems to be working a lot better, and  smoother, none of them pesky pop-up things, that say, "would you like to let this program access the internet". (things drove me about nuts).

I have a firewall built into  the router than I'am using. I just never knew that Windows firewall would cause a havoc like this, never had this problem before. Ah, stuff happens.  :?

Odd, I never got that when I used Windows Firewall. I switched about 5 minutes after the install to my own hardware firewall + Comodo
