  1. yeah, I've done a similar hack to this... I noticed that it was already mentioned on the first page, but to replace the screensaver file with cmd.exe and just making the account yourself, theres pros and cons with this in comparison to your 'utilman' method, let see the obvious con of it is definitely the 15minute wait for the screensaver to come on, however... if your not much of a programmer and dont have visual basic, the cmd.exe replacable looks much more attractive =p
  2. um... well personally what I would've done was while formatting the disc with the ubuntu distro that I intended on keeping, I would've just deleted the unwanted partition and formatted in addition with the space used for the wanted ubuntu
  3. umm... delete the partition of ubuntu that you DONT want.
  4. after day 1 I conclude that flash will take some time to get accustomed to
  5. you know what... eff you! lol anyways, yeah... I dont think theres anyway I can get this one to pull off because lets say I do use a boot disc, where would I put the disc of the game that I wanna play? idk... it still seems definitely possible "in theory" but a hard one to pull off I guess
  6. wow, really? theres absolutely no free alternative to flash? and yeah, I went to adobes website I saw the 30day trial on CS3 but I'm not much of a fan of trials, maybe I can find a keygen for it? even after getting the program, I still have to learn it... ugh
  7. not only that, but I was thinking umm... would I need a hard drive in my PS2?
  8. ok, this actually seems fairly simple... I've been doing some research and reading tutorials and things like that, I'm more than sure I could accomplish this however! I do not have the flash program, anybody know a good flash alternative? for instance openoffice compared to microsoft office, any thoughts are definitely appreciated
  9. so umm... I want to play my ps2 online and I dont have an online adapter? BUT! I do have a linksys WUSB54G... and my ps2 DOES have usb ports interesting enough, I'm wondering if theres anyway that I can play wirelessly? I'd imagine it would be hard though, because how would I use drivers for it?
  10. hmm.. use flash? I'm not exactly sure how to do this I've never used flash to do anything ever in my life! not including being a 'user' of someone elses flash gadget
  11. yeah... after I made my changes I looked at the source and I got this... http://profile.myspace.com/..goim?screenname=xiFinkx&message=Hi.+Are+you+there? which I'm guessing (which would be a good idea) is that myspace made it so that you could ONLY link to other pages on the myspace site, this prevents people from using fake myspace sites for phishing
  12. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea...iendid=22102256 ^thats where I have the link at, but I think you have to be my friend or something to view the page... hope you have a myspace lol actually I think that I can change my privacy settings to make it viewable by anyone and I do have the official AIM client installed on my computer lol it works when I click on it here, but for some reason when I put the link up on my profile it wasnt working
  13. This is the page that I get sent to anytime I try to click on the link that I've created, its frustrating... >_< The page cannot be found The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please try the following: * Make sure that the Web site address displayed in the address bar of your browser is spelled and formatted correctly. * If you reached this page by clicking a link, contact the Web site administrator to alert them that the link is incorrectly formatted. * Click the Back button to try another link. HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found. Internet Information Services (IIS) Technical Information (for support personnel) * Go to Microsoft Product Support Services and perform a title search for the words HTTP and 404. * Open IIS Help, which is accessible in IIS Manager (inetmgr), and search for topics titled Web Site Setup, Common Administrative Tasks, and About Custom Error Messages.
  14. indeed... but when I clicked the link it didnt open up an IM window instead it directed my page to something like "the page requested could not be found" ...I think were all familiar with that page ;]
  15. ok, soooo... I'm sure most everyone that uses this forum has noticed the option to make your aim screen name available along with a few other chat clients, well... I'm interested in how I would go about putting a button on my myspace page so that when people click it it will automatically bring up a window to send a message, much like whats on this site. I would simply like one of those on my myspace, and I already have the button made up, and I tried to use aim:goim?screenname=xiFinkx&message=hi as the link reference, but that didn't yeild thee results i was going for lol any help?
  16. I see, but even still... isnt there a risk that (espeicially with my isp, comcast) you temporarily lose your internet connection, and you have to start over again or perhaps the download gets corrupted?
  17. you spelled important wrong in the subject, I'm not really interested in this topic... I just wanted to point out the spelling error kbye.
  18. whats the advantage of that compared to a regular CD/DVD install? +not everyones bios can support a network boot
  19. yer... KDE rocks my socks and I really tried to use Debian seriously, I got it free in a magazine but I didnt bother with it beckause it was like 4 install discs and I was way too lazy
  20. lol... eff Fedora, I would rahter use an old redhat distro anyways, in my own opinion if I had to pick ANY distro to use as a HD install, well it would depend on what I was using the pc for first of all, but for basic computing needs like to replace windows, I would go for ubuntu for any server type needs definitely go with FreeBSD (which isn't exactly linux I know, but add an L and eureka!) Lunix! as for liveCD knoppix is ckool? Backtrack is better and what ckan knoppix do that backtrack ckant?
  21. well thats a nice way of putting it... but yeah, theres nothing wrong with KNOPPIX, but installing it? we all our entitled to our own opinions =]
  22. I'd just like to know... why did you try to install knoppix in the first place? please tell me it was only to 'test' since you were having problems with ubuntu
  23. when I run bkhive /mnt/sda1/windows/sys32/config/sysem key I get boot key:some random hex thing error writing to key is this because the file is set to read-only or something? I'm not sure how or why that attribute might be set aswell as being put into effect since I didn't boot from windows I was on backtrack. or is there another reason why I might be getting that error? thoughts appreciated
  24. yeah, I've had that before but what scared me the most was the part that said 'host' (svcHOST.exe) what am I hosting? I certainly hope not any type of remote access service.
  25. sounds pretty nifty... I'm going to go watch the vid right now =]
