Oh yeah. Forgot about the RAM upgrade...wish I was good at soldering so i could fix that minor issue ;) I always use FonFlash.

Do you know if anyone has tried this yet? I don't see why it wouldn't work since it is literally the same hardware for what is common between the two.

Just flash using Fon Flash from http://gargoyle-router.com it takes care of doing the redboot connection and everything. Simple as that.

Whoops. It's US release will be July 1st. (http://wiki.fon.com/wiki/Fonera_2.0_Press_Release). That's a lot longer than I thought. :( "Sales will begin in Europe where the new Fonera 2.0 is priced at a very affordable €49,95." I imagine they will be doing the same pricing where that is the same price USD as well. Digininja, any plans for a Jasager plugin for the Fonera 2.0 firmware? It would be incredible if you could pull that off, just pop in the plugin and you're off, no flashing or nothing.

Find someone from Europe that can get you one I guess. I think US release is May 1st if I remember right. I'm just going to wait. Finals are coming up anyways, I'd be screwed if I got a Fon2.0 before school was out. I'd fail everything!

All Jasager is, is an implementation of Karma that runs on the Fon router. Check out http://trac.metasploit.com/wiki/Karmetasploit

Anyone tried this yet? You can grab the latest firmware here. Seeing that the Fon 2.0 is almost the same hardware just with USB and a nicer firmware I was wondering whether anyone had attempted this yet. Installation instructions are here as well. I haven't had the time to try it out yet. Someone should do it and let me know how it goes! ;) Fon 2.0 released today in Europe and I am antsy to get my hands on one here in the US. :D

It would probably be easiest for you to rename it using WinSCP to rename the files.

Only the original Fon matters for having a proper firmware version. The Fon+ is fully open and ready to be flashed. Redboot is enabled and wide open so no problems there with the Fon+ unless you have a UK model which is slightly different.

You should be able to do it without a problem. Several people have used my tutorial to get it up and running: http://excid3.betaserver.org/fon-2201/open...n-the-fon-plus/ I have not heard of anyone trying it on the Fon 2.0 yet. Can't wait to get my hands on one of those when they come out.

Sure you've got the right filename and you tfpt server is running? Check out using Fon Flash instead, its an automated tool for flashing and works like a charm: http://gargoyle-router.com

Freifunk is outdated now. See Fon Flash above which has been tested and verified on Fon, Fon+ and Fon 2.0. Works to flash DD-WRT, Openwrt/Gargoyle and the Fon firmwares on any platform.
