feeling 1337 then degoba? ;)
-
well then hi there, fellow southpaw...
-
@melodic:
6.1... *drools*
@TheZ:
that's pretty cool, and I'd prolly do the same but even though I just got me a lappy and wireless equipped it, it's stuggling a little with it's PII233... :D
It didn't like Win2k much... which, by the way, sucks @233MHz w/32MB RAM...

yeah! w00t for classic macs! my Classic II has a 20MB HDD (IIRC) and 10MB RAM!!
The greatest thing that Macs can do that PCs can't...?
...Software controlled floppy eject! I loved that! The faces of PC users when they don't see the eject button! :D
*calms down and takes a sip of his favourite cabonated drink, second only to anything heavily caffeinated...*

but playing decoy is a very... important role... ;)

*glances at his partially gutted PowerPC 4400/160*

*glances at his fully operational Mac Classic II*

How does everyone watch their IPTV stuff?
Media for me goes very simply from my regular PC to my TV via my GeForce 5200FX's S-Video out and the audio comes from my Technics stack - I used to have 4ch surround using my (very very) old Sony amp and bookshelf speakers providing the rear 2 channels...
I played with controlling it all using a OneForAll IR remote, but gave up with the IR receiver I had so I now use my Saitek P2500 USB game controller and it's 'programming' software to map to keyboard keys which controls WinAmp, although I now use VLC and haven't configured the controlling stuff yet, so I just start the vid/playlist playing and turn off my monitor...
I was in the process of making a media centre in a dead DVD player's case but that's kinda on hold because I don't feel like feeding it money at the mo :D
Your turn...

Edited: *cough*
I'm sticking with the pounds, shillings and pence ;)
As for the cables, I reckon it's much more rewarding when your box is made diy-style! That way, you get to say you really did 'make' your PC :D

ah my bad - I'm a bit of a n00b here really, I only signed up since the great resurrection of the great and almighty hak.5 forums ;)
oh, and since I've seen loads of mentions of England (I say it here, 'cos I've seen melodic mention once or twice), I thought that since I haven't done my profile yet that I am English!
Edit: Just realised that melodic is in fact from England too... which it says quite clearly beneath his avatar *duh*, so hey to melodic and all the other English peeps on here!

heheh ... they are still good machines, those - most of 'em still work :D
oh, and I should think that they (would in theory) make great (read:very cheap) wardriving machines, as long as they have USB or CardBus slots... not sure they'd be too hot for heavy number-crunching work though, so no decryption...
*realises he's thinking out loud again and goes away to watch more IPTV*

I'm lagging a little behind on my hardware atm, I haven't checked the sysreqs but my system is a AthlonXP 2100+ w/512MB DDR and NV GF 5200FX 128MB or ATI Radeon 9250 256MB depending on whether I'm using TV-out (for hak.5 - I despise watching vids on my CRT) since my 9250's TV-out is mono only on my regular TV... I guess I should check the sysreqs and go get CS so I can try the server :D
Edit: Apparently this should be good enough... *contemplates buying CS:S so I can tear myself away from the still addictive MOH:AA*

grr... Sparda - would've checked out your blog, but I have IE atm, so no go... however, I read this thread with interest...
I've heard lots of funny things about ZA along my 'net travels, but I find it odd that no matter how many times I install ZA on my machine - it disappears... gone... no sign of it...
however, even with no visible sign (no tray icon, no config windows etc... it appears to be uninstalled) it still seems to be active - I used it with my Win XP SP0 fw off because the XP fw was playing at blocking traffic, so I used ZA (which worked)... though since its mysterious disappearance it still seems to be working - and still with the configuration it was last set to - maybe I missed something and turned something off but I don't remember doing so and without touching any related settings after a totally normal reboot it just... well... disappeared...
still, I guess since I don't use it any more it doesn't really matter lol... I'd be interested to hear how your situation ends up though... if you find out what it's sending, do tell!

everyone yell at me if this is a dumb idea, but how about a little 'see who can make the best hak.5 wallpaper' thread?
-
hey all - this is kinda pointless, but my curiosity forces me to ask the following question:
was the laptop featured in ep#9's thebroken sketch the same one featured in the Microshaft Web 2.0 Framework sketch?
-
*isn't sure if this thread has a point, but...*
/me is left handed...
-
Nice! Now I just need a rig that can play CS ... :S

I love the ideas for this DVD, and look forward to the official season 1 DVD... in the mean time, here's my thoughts on the 'best of' DVD (most of which have been said lol)
(imho) I think it should be SL,
bloopers are good, the microshaft minis are great, as is the realplayer interview, the evil server owns and I also love the slashdot patch short... all are worthy of DVD space :p
djoek's Hak.5 in 60 seconds idea could work well, would be cool to see that on there I think... (and the clickable pi symbol ;)) and having wallpapers and such would also be nice (though I'm sure it'd be quicker to get those from the site, but maybe DVD-only wallpapers?)
great idea to include hi-res cover art, I look forward to seeing what that's gonna look like!
arcade cab, buffer overflow w/beer, ipod laser, ep#8's 'dream' intro and the IPTV section... can't think of any more stuff right now, but I'm sure there's loads more XD...
cheers all, mloiotn
Edit: Just begun watching ep#3 - you have to include the harrison 'reading your email from norfolk, virginia' intro! - actually, why not just have all the intros? :D
-
yeah I say stick with the longer shows myself, but hey, whatever the people want!
oh, and hey to everyone, been watching Hak.5 since Ep 6 and I'm loving it!

ehh it's all good... it's cooler if we don't limit each other on what we say, no? be yourself ;)
go for it, as long as noone else minds - I'm cool about it either way and I'm pretty sure everyone else is cool with stuff, I just didn't have anything to say in reply lol
