  1. Ok after install a fresh firmware flash of 1.01

    No infustions installed.

    I run

    opkg update
    opkg install bc

    then

    wget -P /tmp/ http://trtsgc.com/changemac/install.sh; chmod +x install.sh; sh /tmp/install.sh

    then

    changemac -r

wlan0 interface doesnt come back up and the SSID stops broadcasting, I get the following:

Executing 'changemac -r':[H[JChanging macwlan0New mac address: 00:02:78:F4:F:F9wlan1new mac address: aa:00:04:39:CB:BBFailed to start hostapd for phy0

When i issue ifconfig wlan0 up the SSID is still not broadcasting and the wlan0 interface has returned to the original MAC.

Is there something im missing .....Ideas?

  2. Hi Guys,

Im trying to reflash an alfa board.

When connecting by putty, all iam getting is a blank screen with a cursor and not the boot menu. I have set baud rate to 115200, no flow control, no parity, databits to 8 and stop bits to 1. I have also confirmed the COM port under device manager and set the baud rate in device manager to 115200.

I have installed the drivers for the usb-serial adaptor and confirmed its been assigned a COM port.

Im using an AR9331 board and a USB to TTL UART RS232 Serial Converter Module PL2303HX.

The board is being powered by wall.

The only odd thing, is there is no LED light when powered on. Given this was ordered from an "authorised alfa vendor" in china and packaged in nothing but a single layer of bubble wrap, im guessing its a dud?

    Any ideas?

  3. Hello,

The current known issue with the pineapple not powering a mounted USB thumb drive is driving me mad. I cannot run any infusions without the USB drive unmounting and the pineapple requireing a reboot.

Im hoping there will be a fix soon but until then im becoming impatient and going to focus on a workaround by using a USB powered hub.

I have this USB hub which is 3.0 and powered.

From what i can see USB 3 has these wires

What wires would need cutting to ensure power is not fed directly back to the pineapple? both power + and power - ?

Also can anyone suggest a alternative AC power cable to this one that will connect to a USB juice pack not AC. Would be ideal running the hub from a battery pack.

    cheers

  4. Well I received the new replacement drive and I serial flashed my pineapple formated the usb drive with two partitions @ ext4. Setup the drive with swap on the pineapple all while connected to 12v. I am still having issues with drive being un-mounted. !!

Recieved my replacement domain.com drive today but still the same issue. I cannot copy any files via winscp without the usb unmounting. I have managed to install some modules onto it, but it appears to unmount when under load by transfering files to it.

Set the drive up correctly as per the pineapples manual, 2 ext4 partitions, one 3gb and 1gb for swap.

To have it remounted requires the pineapple to be rebooted.

Also note this is connected via wall not the juice pack when experiecing the problem.

  5. Hi Guys,

I have uploaded some sites to the www folder and also tried symbolic links from the mounted usb thumb drive.

The problem appears to come and go.

I do an ipconfig /flushdns from the client machine then ping the spoofed page to confirm its pointing to pineapple.

It either resolves right away or takes its time and displays half the page not the full layout as if its loaded from a local cache.

Next step will be to reflash the pineapple and start from scratch.

If the spoofed page is trying to access external content could this be the issue?

    Any ideas?

  6. Let me also chime in - Anyone that has this issue, could you report your current firmware version?

While I doubt it is firmware related, we want to make sure to cover all angles here.

    Best Regards,

    Sebkinne

    Current 2.8.1

I'll have a full report in the morning but I figured I'd post my findings asap.

Bad news: The 4GB SanDisk Cruzer Fit doesn't work with a MK4 powered by a Pineapple Juice.

Good news: The 4GB SanDisk Cruzer Fit does works with a MK4 powered by a Pineapple Juice.

Best news: There's a solution. While I'm still testing this I can say with confidence we'll make things right for anyone experiencing this issue.

    Cant wait.

  7. This is definitely a hardware issue. In most cases, it's not a matter of more 'power'. All USB devices are designed to run from 5V. Some might happen to work at less. If you're lucky, it might work. However, you could buy 100 USB drives from the same manufacturer, and 60 might work fine at a lower voltage, 30 might work sometimes, and 10 might not work at all. From an Electronic point of view, picking a drive that works is a real half-ass solution that may stop working at any time. So, USB drives expect a full 5V. The problem is that the Pineapple will not be able to supply a full 5V to USB drives unless if it's getting at least 7-8V in. If you power the Pineapple from a USB port, it's getting 5.5V at MOST. If you do this, your USB Flash drives are running on 3 or 4 volts, and as low as that is, it will fluctuate under load, temperature, etc. That means that, even if it works today, it can corrupt data under load, or reset the device. It's a problem waiting to happen.

The solution? If you want your Pineapple to actually work with USB drives or other USB devices in any kind of consistent way:

    1) Run the Pineapple from 7-12V

    2) Run the Pineapple from 5V, but use a powered USB Hub for any devices plugged into the Pineapple.

Firmware is not a fix. Picking the right USB drive is not a real fix (Even if it seems like it works)

    Interesting.

Whats the return policy? As i bought the elite pineapple bundle expecting it all to work together in a portable solution.
