  1. Im bringing this thread back to life as I've encounted the same problems again with the current kali 1.0.9 raspberry pi build. https://www.kali.org/news/kali-tools-website-launched-1-0-9-released/

It simply won't boot, the red and green lights on the pi remain static and there is not display output.

    I have tried:

Replacing the bootcode.bin and start.elf, start_cd.elf, start_x.elf files which previously worked as per here http://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questions/22573/failing-to-boot-kali-on-b-model-pi - no go.

Reformatting the SD card numerous times with different methods.

Installing NOOBS (basic rasp pi image) to rule out the fact of a dodgy SD card / rasp pi. - Boots fine.

Ive tried installing the image using root@kali:~ dd if=kali-pi.img of=/dev/sdb bs=512k - copies files across but still not booting.

Ive tried installing the image by simply copying and pasting the contents of the img file to the Sd card - confirmed files copied across but still not booting.

    Any ideas?

  2. Hi Guys,

I went out and purchased the AWUS036NEH. I'm still not entirely convinced the AWUS036NEH solves the problem.

    Here's what i did.

Setup a hotspot on my Android Galaxy S3 broadcasting on channel 1.

Connected directly to Android hotspot from desktop PC with these results:

I then immediately ran the same speed test, again from my desktop PC which is now connected to my pineapple over the air and configured in client mode to connect to the Android hotspot.

Note: pineapple SSID is broadcasting on channel 6 and the hotspot is still running on channel 1.

    What am i doing wrong?

  3. Could you perhaps elaborate on the "it doesn't work" situation?

Do lights turn on, does the screen show anything at any stage in the process.... That sort of thing.

Followed this guide here to burn the image to a microSD

    http://www.r00tsec.com/2013/04/howto-installing-kali-in-raspberry-pi.html

Powered on raspberry connected to monitor via HDMI. Not picture on monitor. The red and green lights on the Pi remain on.

Tested on Kali Pi images 1.0.6 and 1.0.7 no go.

  4. Did you manage to get it to work with another distrobution?

You used the ARM version right?

Yes. Tested another Distro on two seperate micro SD cards - booted fine.

I know the B+ requires a new kernel to handle the USB hub and the NIC so unless the Kali release date is after the B+ release date it won' work I guess. If you have B you could try installer there. Doing apt-get update and apt-get dist-upgrade and then trying the SD card in a B+ or just wait for a new Kali build.

I was hoping not to wait for another build.

  5. Hola,

Has anyone successfully installed Kali on the new B+ raspberry and please advise how you did it?

Im not 100% but i think the current Kali raspberry pi image doesnt work with the B+ after imaging from various OS's to the microSD for the raspberry.

I would ask on Kalis forums, but they dont approve new postings.

  6. Still issues with installation. Tested with multiple browsers.

Firefox from android phone - no go

Iceweasel from desktop pc - no go

firefox from macbook - no go

safari from macbook - WORKS !? OMFG

  7. Koolkarnt,

ive followed your steps with little success.

1: connected to PA via broadcasted ssid - login to port 1471
2: start wlan1 - client mode - connect to hotspot
3: installed infusions wifi manger, ettercap urlsnarf and dnsspoof
4: enabled ICS from wlan1 to wlan0 in wifi manager
5: tested networking, can access sites and such. - next step
    6: ettercap -i br-lan -M arp:oneway,remote // //
7: Urlsnarf and dnsspoof running on br-lan
8: Test from a client machine connected to broadcasted SSID from wlan0 - no internet

    9. Test from client machine connected directly to hotspot that wlan1 is connected to in client mode - no internet from client machine.

    wrong ettercap command?

I have also tried running ettercap on the wlan1 interface - with the same outcome as step 8 & 9.

    edit:

Tried disabling wlan1 and setting up a USB alfa to connect in client mode the hotspot on wlan2. Then do a ettercap -i wlan2 -M arp:oneway, remote // //

Still no go - both directly connected client machines to wlan0 AP and exisiting clients on network attached to wlan2 in client mode - no internet.

  8. Guys I'm having a bit of trouble getting this to run. It always comes up with "ettercap is not running..." after executing various commands.

    This is my current setup.

wlan1 is connected to network 10.1.1.0 in client mode with DHCP address of 10.1.1.8.

I want to ARP poison 10.1.1.6 which is on the client network.

The gateway on the client network is 10.1.1.1

The pineapple is running on the default 172.16.42.0 network.

Can someone please confirm the correct settings / command to ARP traffic from a client on the client network.

Or is it simply not possible to ARP clients on the network configured as client mode?

    thanks
