  1. I'm curious to know what stealth mode is on the Pineapple landing page... I'm half expecting it to not show up as a access point but will show up as Karma... I could be wrong though. And if I am wrong, there should be a way to do this where your access point won't show up when people look for networks but will show up through Karma :D

  2. Just released PwnPi v2.0 Final. Ive installed 181 pen test tools. The project was on front page of hackaday yesterday and used up all the sourceforge webpage bandwith so have registered the official pwnpi site.

    Reflex!

    Love this!!!

P.S. -- I sent you a email in regards of adding airdrop-ng into the mix :D Hope you consider.

  3. Hey everyone, saw the post here and thought I would share what I have been using. I had an entire cabinet full of cables and other junk so put it to good use.

not the best way of doing it but didnt have to buy anything extra parts. all of the cables were either in the drawer or came originally with the anker chargers.

still testing the battery life on the setup. It stayed on for at least 5 hours while I played around on it. The batteries had 2/4 lights on 1 and 4/4 lights on 2. The anker batteries run warm, but the snow lizzard dont really warm up at all.

    2 anker battery packs

    2 snow lizzard battery packs

    usb hub

    usb squid hub

    sandisk micro usb

rp-sma extender for the larger antenna

    briefcase

might go get some better cables to make it a little more tidy, anyone got any suggestions?

    Legend... (wait for it).... dairy!!!

    That setup is legendary lol

May I suggest a Raspberry Pi connected to the pineapple... sharing internet via ethernet and running pwnpi... Throw a little airdrop-ng in the mix...

Other than that you are my idol !!!!!

My setup will be a little less epic incorporating a lunch box instead of a briefcase... only 1 Anker for me lol

  4. If i were you i would use a console only distribution on the raspberry pi, avoid anything with an X session manager or GUI interface, as that makes it use precious cpu cycles that otherwise would be used for what we want that little thing to do.In any case you would need a usb powered hub.

Thanks for the tip :D I'll work it out when I get my Pi..... I might need to buy another battery because the battery I currently have only has 2 usb power ports.

  5. My raspberry pi is still on order with the 8 to 12 weeks wait time :( But i know for sure that it needs a usb powered hub if you going to hook up anything other than a a keyboard or mouse to it.

You can't run away from a usb powered hub with any of them.

I was planning on using VNC to access the Raspberry Pi so I don't need keyboard and mouse..... In regards to power output on the usb port I'm really hoping I can power a regular usb wifi adapter along with a Alfa for deauthing.

  6. I can confirm pwnpi rocking ICS to my pineapple just fine :) Unfortunately the raspi's usbs are even more underpowered than the pineapples, so deauths and such still require a USB hub (something I was hoping to avoid...) but even so, its still awesome as hell

    telot

Darn :( I was really hoping to deauth without another usb hub... this could cause some problems. At least it isn't a total loss.... I can still deauth through the pineapple and get internet via Ethernet from the Raspberry.... I just won't be able to have a flash drive on the pineapple.

Can you confirm first hand that the alfa isn't getting the amount of power it needs to deauth?? I'm really hoping to avoid another usb hub...In this case I won't be able to use a usb hub.

  7. I notices most of the browsers i.e. Safari and Chrome are switching to HTTPS version most of the time, I'll try experimenting with

SSL Strip, thanks for the replys, would anyone be interested in my fake login pages when they are done ?

I'm interested in your fake login pages... Send me a message when you got them all done :D

  8. Thanks for the reply's everyone, So from what you all have said it appears that I can power it from anywhere between 5-12V DC and the power will get stepped down as needed and that the antenna the Pineapple comes with is semi-directional and also that if I power the pineapple with 5v that the usb port may run at a lower voltage

Dose anyone know of an antenna that is completely independent of direction or is a di-pole as good as it gets? I'm looking for something I can just throw in my backpack, walk around and capture packets or theoretically mirror a free access point and turn all the images upside down for the lulz not that anyone would ever do that...

    a regular antenna....

  9. no dice, even tried it without the hub.

I've had similar problems with my Alfa but I came to the conclusion that I shorted it out because it wasn't recognizable from the hub, pineapple, or computer.

Try it on your computer and see if it is still functioning...

  10. Well it all depends on what you want to do, is it distance or reliability you are after!

If it is an official pen-testing then go with the antenna and the AMP.

If you are just going to do it for educational purposes then go ahead with the antenna alone.

    Gotcha thanks :D

  11. Ohhh i thought he was talking about an alfa adapter, but yeah if the MK4 is 80mW-125mW that would make it be heard out there a lot more. Actually i do not know how much the MK4 output to the antenna.

So what would you recommend I do??

  12. I use the same one.

We will actually feature it (a bit different) on the hakshop very soon :)

Be careful though because I used the digital camera output on it to power a usb hub and it shorted my alfa..... If you have a usb hub, power through the usb port on the battery and not the digital cammera port.

I'll post pictures of my setup when my new alfa comes in the mail and the usb power cable comes in too. B)

  13. I was looking for a portable power source for the Pineapple myself. In the process, I came up with one of the most ghetto things that I've ever done in my IT career.

    pineapple.jpg

A 6 volt lantern battery seems to work just fine. All you have to do is find a DC power cable that you aren't too attached to, hack several inches of it off before the barrel, strip and expose the copper wire, stab some holes in the plastic endcaps that came with the battery, thread the wires into them, and replace the caps onto the battery. They snap back into place and complete the circuit. This Pineapple has been running for about 7 hours now without a problem on a $4.00 battery from the local dollar store.

    Is it rechargeable?

    I settled with the Anker Astro3 10000mAh ..... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005NGKR54/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00

    WORKS GREAT!! :D
