    It seems like more and more "hacking" scenes are more realistic in hollywood movies.

    But nothing beats the scene from "Hackers":

    i've watched it ,good for the time period, but movie that changed computer hacks & influenced most was The Matrix. & thats wat u see in metasploit..........

    This movie uses a custom Lenevo Thinkpad laptop with windows 7 O.S used by spider. its rumored that windows was tampered with custom linux.there were many hack codes some lasting 10 sec. these are the ones i selected. i liked the movies atmosphere, District 9 director Niell Blookamp uses similar approach in film making including his detail view of every scene,shaky cam, big props from weta workshop esepecially the ChemRail one used by matt damon, bluetooth brain sync data downloader. but i dont know what type of fucking tablet was used by kruger on his arm when he gets updates from elysium. many of you will agree this movie is bullshit, but i personally liked this movie because i know what blookamp is capable off when i watched District 9 that personally affected me just like like dark knight movies .

    How to Misconfigure Ubuntu Server 12.04 ?

    Time consuming, but look through Bugtraq or ExploitDB or some other source and find vulnerable versions of software to install on the boxes. It might require compiling rather than apt-get as the repos will have the fixed versions most likely. Also, randomly set some programs SUID for root and see if you can tip them over. Really, though, you are better running an older platform if you are just wanting to demo or study the exploit process itself.

    Thanks, i think i made some minor changes, am not so talented with this but i guess somehow this may work not sure.

    1) Disabled the Firewall

    2) Disabled SELinux/AppArmor

    3) NO filesystem encryption

    4) Left the root account enabled.

    Web page is super super friendly for attacks, when tested from kali.

    Ubuntu Server 12 installed along with Msploitable 2 inside Vbox, Vbox runs inside Kali Linux, Kali is dualbooted along Windows7

    Dell XPS Core i7, 8 GB RAM, SeaGate 720 GB HDD. for kali ( 500GB allocated)

    Hi,

    Just a N00B..... question. Installed a latest version of vulnerable web app mutilliade on Ubuntu server 12.04 inside Virtualbox, while installing i selected *LAMP SERVER* , *NO UPDATES*,after installation i turned off firewall, apart from these is there anything i can do to misconfigure this server for penetration testing just like metasploitable ? if you got any suggestion let me know.

    Hi,

    One of the best space movie i ever seen since Apollo 13 (1995), movie is worth every penny.The visuals in Gravity are absolutely stunning! The views of the earth from space and the way the graphics are completed really give you a small sense of what it would be like to be in space.the story is decent with a brilliant direction, wonderful music. the G-force was captured in a realistic way.am not a 3D fan bt i purchased a 3D ticket coz i know which movie shud b viewed in 3D. my only complaint its only 1hr-30 min i wish it was atleast +2hr. but there is a secret why director kept dis movie short u'll know after u see it.if u like sci-fi take this.

    Pros: Long takes of camera,Sound Editing,music,Direction,Decent Plot, & Acting.

    Con's : 90 min.

    overall : 9/10
