Because o fcrap bandwidth and time diff i watch the xvid download and really i thinks its ok. I mean it isn't perfect but it's no being filmed in a TV studio with all the best equipment. Practice makes perfect and I think you can definitely see a trend within Hak.5 of it getting better with each episode.

Dude I know what you are trying to say but it is a little hardcore. Many hackers probably are biased against things but put that aside in the world of hacking. Truth is we are all friends on this forum bu had we all met face to face, I would say that wouldnt be the case. I just think it is a case of hack responsibly and if you dont like somebody , steer clear of them. The one thing in hacker culture that irks me aa bitis the treatment some noobs get. Sure some are lazy and don't puit in the time but others have nowhere else to turn to and then get berated for doing the smart thing, asking questions. Dont give them all the answers, just try to guide them a little. The morons that are too lazy to even google for what they search for don't deserve shit.
Not knocking your work because you obviously put alot of effort into it, it may just be a bit extreme? Still, I applaud your intentions and writing something like this is quite difficult to keep EVERYONE happy. I'm a stubborn little bugger!

Ok.....after reading some old text files and watching BSoD i have gained some interest in the world of phreaking. Un fortunately most sites and info is american based and I live in Australia so it's not real helpful. WOuld just llike to be pointed to some nice resources and some tips. I am not asking for all the good because I want to learn it for myself but the initial data barrier is killing me.

I haven't used any of those things in ages (besides AVG if it's a machine I'll be playing with decidedly dodgy code) but when I do (or did), there are/were what I used:
Firewall - ZoneAlarm
Antivirus - AVG Free
Malware - AdAware
Generally though if you use common sense and don't screw around with weird new screensavers people send you and click on links to what's supposed to be a picture of you that someone sent you via MSN, you're probably fine.
I run exactly the same on my laptop but my wife uses built in firewall on home PC

I haven't got to try Vista yet so I can't say but your net connection is pretty much the same no matter what os you use i would think.

Well, one thing I can say, if you've got the money, buy an IBM, the T60 is a great deal.
Dell are good laptops... anyway everbody's experience... if you wish to wait till you get enough money, then get an IBM... there is nothing like IBM hardware...

Not sure how most people feel but being in MOV format doesn't bother me coz i think everyone should use vlc which plays everything anyway.

Poor ol windows gets smashed in every forum topic lol. But yes, if there were standard practice fixes on a large network tehn the flash drive could be a very helpful admin tool. And if your admin then you can switchblade it up too not that i endorse this type of behaviour :D

I bought a Lenovo (IBM) Thhinkpad and I gotta say it is a nice unit, if though a little pricy. I was warned of a Dell everywhere I turned here in Australia bu am not sure whether US is any different.

I am quite lucky. I am a major nerd without the stereotypical looks and I am good at sport. In my younger days I was also a bit off the rails and throw people beatings and the such and I can say, that all of my nerd friends were the most loyal. They looked out for me, never snobbed me and I was happy to beat the crap outta anyone who gave them any grief. And now 10 years later they are all successful with shitloads of cash and the ones who gave em crap are getting nowhere. Nerds are a girls best friend. Ask my wife and two daughters (9 and 3) LMAO
