  1. I'm unsure as to what administrative task you would really need to perform from their account. If we need to do anything we just RDP in or if it's to do something on their account we use remote assistance.

What sort of work do you need to perform on their machines?

  2. I plan to get a RFID chip and put bullshit info on there ie Chuck Norris etc and conceal my real one in a blocking wallet or something. I dont have anything worth stealing, but I feel it is my civic duty to be a complete arsehole when crap like this is foisted onto us.

  3. Ahhh this is a topic tat never seems to die, it just keeps coming round and round. As someone who started watching In season 1 I might as well throw my 2 cents in.

The productions is better now, and the show looks great. The content is up and down in terms of appeal to me, so you can't keep everyone happy. I do appreciate Darrens greater usage of Linux though, top marks there. Matt's virtualisation segments were enjoyable also. I don't give two shits about the wii, but I dont care if they cover wii stuff because the show isn't soley made for me.

There are several reasons why I think Season 1 will never be outdone. One is a i appreciated it more because I had to wait a whole month to get it. Two, Harrison. He's the man. Now he left for the reasons he did but you can't bug out on the rest of the guys for that. Work commitments would have cut his involvement anyway, but I loved the segments he AND Darren did. Ditto for Jonathon.

Wess. Well what can you say? He is and always will be missed but people change, things happen there is a season turn turn turn. I fucking hate when people who hate the show stick around to piss and moan about the good old days. A weekly release schedule is a big fucking ask so if your not interested in helping out, then fuck off. I would rather a smaller community with less morons then look and see that there are 10,000 members of the forum.

I am just going to say thanks to the cast, past present and future, for trying to give something back to us nerds/geeks etc. Nobody will ever agree 100% with what you say, do or put on the show but I say ignore those wankers and keep on going and show the content you want to show. As far as I am concerned you guys have nothing to prove and don't need the naysayers having a cry over whatever has caught the attention of their tiny braids. Except for connection speed and torrenting, i wish the internet was the same as it was back in 94. Best year on the internet I have ever had, bar none.

    Hak5 FTW, fuck off losers.

  4. I installed it today to my Vista Ultimate 32 bit. I am curious to see if anyone else has installed it and what their thoughts are. File copying speed are WAY faster now thank god. Pre-SP1 was painful. Defender ir realy cracking down on all those apps that want to run at startup too which is a pain and a pleasure. I haven't done any gaming yet but overall it does feel faster but without having benchmarked before I installed it, I can't be certain.  I run a modest rig, 4400 Amd 64 Dual Core, 2gig 667mhtz DDR2 and a 7300GT but it handles Vista fine ans it would seem SP1 has made it even better. Vista is starting to grow on me but I still dual boot it with XP lol.

  6. Man the other day at uni orientation some IT person asks "what do i do if i am getting bullied?". I accidentally let out a little chuckle and everyone tuned to me waiting for a reply.... So i gave em one. "If your still getting bullied in your final years of school let alone uni you must be one very weak person." About half agreed with me and the other half went back to there windows vs linux arguments.

As a carpenter at work I have been and seen many apprentices being bullied at work. It's no issue for me because I am a bit of an angry little bugger so I go right back at them and that usually sorts most arseholes out but alot of kids are too scared to do anything and just cop it through fear of getting sacked. I'm not dure it is right to call people weak because they don't want to be bullied. Sure alot really only need to stand up for themselves but many, after years of copping shit, just can't

  7. I wouldn’t mind writing an article but I’m not sure what level the average reader of Analog.5 is. The problem with writing an article on *NIX is that I can go into a huge amount of detail so anyone with an ounce of intelligence can follow and understand or I can give a overview of the more complex tasks.

Perhaps an introductory article with regular follow ups to guide the noobs (like me) issue by issue. A running column would be sweet.

  8. The internet is just another medium for the same stuff everyone has dealt with in school and beyond. Anytime people get together all the same personality types of real life will become apparent. This is amplified with the illusion of anonymity. This can be good in the case of creativity with out shame as can be seen in a lot of online poetry or podcasting. Or it can be bad in the case of bullies and jerks seeking out people to mess with even going as far as to include sex crimes into that anonymous bubble.

A friend of mine who is really into studying human nature once told me "Only when a person thinks they can not be seen or known will there true nature be available. People hide behind so many layers to fit into there piece of the world that they are never able to really be themselves."

So in the end it comes down to the 2 basic rules that everyone should follow and a quote. Be yourself no matter what. Be kind to everyone the best you can and remove yourself from anyone not responsive to this. and the quote "To care what others think is to be controlled by them." 3 little tidbits to get you through the internet and school.

I could not have put it better myself. Well said my friend.
