  1. "Xion" ... running Gentoo Linux and showing off XGL.

Left screen: Georgia Tech's Calvin Johnson showing why he's the best WR in college.

    Right screen: Hotness

Any chance you could post a link to the wallpaper on the right screen??

  2. Right click on the desktop and go to properties. Then in the Display properties click on the settings tab. Click the 2nd monitor that one is probably set up to be your tv. There should be a check box at the bottom that says Extend my windows desktop onto this monitor.Uncheck that. It should show the same image on both screens now.

  3. It's not out yet but check out http://gidut.tv/cm/node?from=0

We will be setting up a LAMP box from scratch, and I will walk you through all the steps. LAMP stands for Linux, Apache, Mysql, and Php. Nearly every web server on the internt runs on LAMP, including this one, and probably yours. We will go through each step, from installing Linux, to configuring mysql, and php.
  4. What game do you plan on playing the most? I haven't bought a computer game in a while. I only have the demos for UT2004, FarCry, and BF2. I guess i'll invest a little into a game for the hak.5 lan party, but I don't want to go buy a game and then you don't play that one again....

also darren... I have a Atholon XP 2400+ with a GB of Ram. I noticed you have a similar setup. Do you have any trouble running the game?

  5. Every single forum out there that even remotely deals with computer security related issues has a constant stream of the stereotypical "wanting to hack *webmail provider*" type people. Even on forums where such people are instantly banned they still post. They're like Skynet, you can't stop it even with the help of Arnie and a large cache of weapons.

Well I hate to say it but this is a forum about technology and yes the "How do I hack this and how do I hack that" posts are kind of annoying, but it's funny to me to see the questions these people come up with. I'd rather see those then the other posts that have nothing to do with technology at all. IE Poetry Corner, No pants day, Sexual Healing..

  6. I use a Dell TrueMobile 1150 PCMCIA card and it's worked with all the live cds i'ce tired. Also works with ubuntu which I have installed right now. I don't believe they make it anymore, but it was 802.11b anyway. It was actually an orinoco card that dell put there label on, so go look at orinoco cards.

  7. I'm not 100% sure about this but I think if you are talking to someone through AIM (might have to be a direct connect not sure) then use netstat, I think you will see their ip address. I don't know if says AIM or just a port number, you might have to look up what port number AIM uses...

google netstat and AIM port number, maybe that will show something.

  8. I really liked the hak2site2. That looked pretty sweet. But as long as you have a website i'll be happy. I don't really go to the main site that often, just head straight to the fourms.

  9. Ok one more thing.....

I was looking at the Dell and it has

    Port(s) Total ( Free ) / Connector Type: 5 x USB 2.0 Ports / Analog/DVI-D Connectors

I have an ATI 9600 All In Wonder card with two VGA connectors.

I looked at a couple places and found DVI to VGA adaptors, but some say they wont work with DVI-D and some don't say anything.

My brain isn't working correctly right now, so does anyone know if I can connect this monitor to my video card???

[edit] or does the Analog in the connector type mean VGA???

[edit 2] I was bored so I called Dell, got someone rather quickly and yes the Analog means VGA.

  10. I've been wanting to get a Flat Panel LCD Monitor for sometime now. Since I started my new job I have one in front of me all day long, now when I come home I can't stand using my regular monitor.

I've been looking at this UltraSharp 1907FP 19-inch Flat Panel LCD Monitor http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/Product...uctlisting.aspx

Anyone had any experience with a Dell Flat screen? Or any flat screen? What should I look for, and is this monitor a good one, for a good price?

  11. Why oh why Darren are you doing this to me. 2 months now i've been waiting for that Geocaching segment, and you keep skipping it. You had the teaser so you must have already shot it. Just send me the footage please.....
